Spring Checklist 2014

With Spring coming up let`s hear about some projects that you have been putting off because of our wicked Winter or planning on doing. DIY etc.

I`m looking forward to detailing (wash and wax) cleaning all the salt off and putting a new bumper on. Also figure out what to do with my scratched up door handles.

WASH AND WAX!!!!! Holy cow. TL sat out for 4 months with the blown tranny and my lord is that thing dirty. Turning the windshield wipers on is like spreading dirt all over the windows. Need to do an actual tune up. Seafoaming. Oil change will happen in the next few weeks and rotation and balancing. After all that she'll be practically brand new. Might do a timing belt but to be honest it looks new and has at least 50K miles on it and 270K on the car. We'll see though.

Fix a rattling in the front suspension, I think my Axle is going out or dunno cuz there isn't an apparent thing wrong all major components are almost new.. but keep getting this strong hit every time the suspension travels like it hits the frame or something it baffles me and Im too tired these days to remove the wheel....

When you wash and wax your beast give it a good hose off first, then put a soft scrubbing cloth on it.

Yeah I have two tl's wasn't the original plan but I put to much work and money into my 2000 tl that it wasn't worth it to get rid of it. I replaced everything but the engine so it's like a brand new car. I daily drive the 2000 tl and drive the 2004 tl whenever i feel like driving a manual car

But things i would like to have done by time spring gets here, is stretched fenders for the 275s, redo the front bumper/grille, rear spoiler/lip (almost done) and dual tb intake mani

Found a small heating unit (gas) for about 200 bucks. Just have to pipe the gas in. To bad the garage doesn`t have a drain in the middle.

275`s ?? Post some pics when done

I dig the 2004. My sister in law has an 07 drove it around a few times and was left with a good impression. Didn`t really test it. Next time

With hers it`s the fourth Acura in our family. 2 integras 2 TL`s

I've got a few things to do:

I'm about to hit 100,000 miles- so I want to get those services done first (belts, etc).
Headlight rewiring
Rear lip needs repair and reinstalled
DC header install
PNP Intake runners
Projector foglight retrofit
Some other things...and of course, wash and wax

Gotta love those snow storms.

Last weekend I replaced rear rotors and pads and one of the calipers. Today it was 60 degrees so gave the TL a good wash with the hose. Next up . . . do something with my disgustingly-corroded original wheels. Here's the worst of the set.

Thinking of doing a cheap, manual refinish: stripper to cut the clear coat, abrasive wheel to get to clean metal, rattle-can for filler primer and rattle-can for silver paint. The car is all original, would like to keep the wheels if I can.

Im having this same issue, When you did your alignment was the caster off by a few degrees ?

Spring:

Fix up some curb rash on the CLs wheels and figure whats making the suspension act the way it is.

Spring,Summer,Fall and Winter......all year round !!!

Our old aging and sometimes ailing TL's require continual PM on a regular basis.
Any car over 10 years old and having in excess of 100K is going to need attention as needed.
Oftentimes, more harm can be done if things are left to wait. So, just wash 'n wax every Spring and Fall.

But, don't let your baby sit in shitty diapers !!!

If you are refinishing your paint do a thorough wash and rinse first don`t want to scratch anything.
