So I've been having alot of odds and ends problems lately. Figured I'd let y'all know about this one. Since I got my car a few years ago the steering wheel controls and horn have been a bit screwy. The horn and audio controls don't work unless the wheel is turned to the left or right. The cruise works fine. Got her back from the shop little over a month ago after the AV6 swap and they worked great again for like 2 weeks then they went back to the usual routine of having to have the wheel turned. I saw this problem on an NSX once but I can't find any info on it here on our forum. Any ideas at what's up?

Could possibly be the connections are loose or wires cut or frayed behind the airbag of the steering wheel itself?

Its the ground from the Wheel.. Its starts to corrode with time and needs to be sanded so they start to make contact again... I believe there is a thread somewhere on how to DIY.

I was thinking that at first too but the cruise control still works fine. I don't believe that has a separate ground to it. I'm beginning to thing the reel might be the problem but seeing as I still have full functioning cruise control I don't know how that could be.

Acura has a tsb for this. ASN 1003-13 or 03-15 You have to put dimples in the copper shield on the steering column bearing. I'm pretty sure fsttyms has done it, and may have the link.

I went to the link he'd posted and have searched other threads similar to mine where he's commented about it but haven't seen any pictures or links that work. The only one I found is only accessible with a dealer code. Hopefully he jumps in here and can host the page.

I had this problem a few years ago. I followed the instructions from Acura posted on the link, which took care of it.

Mine does this intermittently with the stereo controls. Oddly, more often when it's colder outside.

I can try and do a DIY when I do mine if you want to put it in the DIY section later. Most have probably had it done already but it would still be nice to have for those of us who haven't. The Acura instructions are pretty long and thorough according to that service bulletin. Is it really necessary to use the Steering Wheel Puller? I don't mind renting it but it seems like there's an easier way to go about it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didnt need to use one when i took my wheel off but not all might be as lucky. As for the DIY, you can make one if you want, the actual instructions from the TSB are pretty good though.

I'm just thinking it would be helpful to have some actual pictures and not just the Acura diagrams.
