About to hit 108k on my '99. First tranny went at 85K. Runs great but rattles like crazy. I'm jelous of all the other TL owners out there because powertrain wise I have the slowest and least efficient setup of '99-03 TL's.

readings others I'll more info:
original owner (bought new), third trans (all replaced under warranty), car runs excellent, trans just started shuddering a little plan to see replace fluids to see that helps if not she's gone!, wiper bushings gone, cruise not working (plastic piece on TB broke), struts/shocks need replacement (will do soon), feels like front sway bushings need replacing, original radiator changed around 195K, replaced cat section of exhaust and other than that all original. I loved this car explaining why I still have it but it's time to let her go, paying off wife's car then trading her in.

110,000 miles. I'm guessing at 35 mph or less because I just bought it from an elderly couple. There is literally still butterscotch and bingo chips under the seats lol

~105,400 miles. 10 years old on 12/31/11.
Been on the 2nd trans 3 years (~30,000 miles) as of this March or April.
First 100,000 mile car I've ever had.

In Nov. of 2011 my 99 Had 154,000 on it when it was totaled by a tree that fell on it. The Tranny was starting to act up. My 2003 Type S has 127.000 on it. Original Tranny and still shifts great. Keeping my fingers crossed!

POWER!!
169k on a tranny that has I guess has been either serviced or replaced at 75k (can't remember what CarFax said). They didn't even add the the oil jet. I feel like this tranny is going to go soon too.

I've been a automotive electrical technician for most of my working life (since 19 and I'm 29 now) and its NOTHING to see these Hondas/Acuras coming in over 300k. And quite frankly due to the low cost of repairs, reliability, simplicity yet luxuriousness (Acura) and not to mention great looks....I've concluded that these cars are the best cars out on the road. So much as I now own 3 Acuras. These cars are engineered and designed in a way that is far superior (especially to American cars!) to almost every car by immeasurable distances. I own a 2003 TL-S (126k), a 2007 MDX (108k) and my wife's first ever car: 1998 CL that has over 335k. With the exception of the CL (transmission) all these masterpieces have never had any major repairs and all run beautiful with looks that match. There's a saying on a movie I heard (someone call this one) that says: "if you care for something of great quality, it will last forever". Our CL runs, drives and performs like the first day it was purchased and I speak earnestly here. Change my oil in every car every 3000 miles with Mobil 1 5000 using conventional oil (MDX synthetic), transmission fluids drained and filled every 3rd oil change using ONLY Acura ATF (extremely critical that Acura brand is used) and ALWAYS replace timing belt/water pump/spark plugs every 90k and this has been my recipe for longevity.

I just went over the 180,000 mile mark this weekend. I also just installed four new tires and four new rotors (Napa Ultra performance) with new ceramic pads.
Only major issue was that the tranny broke down at 155K miles. I had it rebuilt through Aamco to gain the lifetime warranty vs. the 1-year warranty the Acura dealership only offered. Since I drive 25K/year, that didn't mean too much to me.
With the new tires/rotors/pads installed this weekend, the car drives like it's brand new. The interior is still in excellent shape, however since most of my miles are highway miles, I'm considering a new paint job as the front bumper has it's share of road scars.

'99 with 155k. Purchased her four years ago with 95,000. Transmission is OG.
Only repairs made since purchase are spark plugs, one coil pack, thermostat, ignition switch. Next up, cooling system repairs, then the remaining coil packs!

Hi, new to the forums. My 02 TL-S just hit 155k today on its second transmission which was replaced before I bought the car. Everything is still up to par except my idle issue which will be fixed soon
