2000 TL P0710 code
I just reset my trouble codes so I could start fresh. I have a P0710 code (transmission fluid temperature sensor circuit malfunction) and the D5 light is blinking. Does anyone have a picture of the temperature sensor location?

someone will pop up with a parts diagram
but codes are clues= not diagnosis
miles on current trans?- original or warranty replaced- before or after 05?
oil jet kit installed on top of trans will tell you some of that info
blue paint on trans bolt heads is the other clue its warranty replaced
hows the fluid color and smell?
ever change it? type fuid used and method?

Original transmission with about 140k miles. Fluid is nice and purty, just like it is supposed to be. No burnt smell, nice color. The fluid was changed prior to us getting the car, no idea of the type used. The original owner was my parents so the car was babied for it's entire life. No transmission change. When they took it in, the dealer looked at it with a bore-scope and said there was no damage. I think they should have replaced it, but when we got the car it was well past the 100k / 7 year point.
I did find a diagram and have found the part on the car. However, now I have another question. What is the resistance supposed to be? Or is it a resistance type sensor. I would like to know if it is bad before replacing it.

It's interesting to note that the temperature reading isn't high according to the codes. At least there is a code for "too high", but I don't know for sure that the TL can trip that code.
