Seats: Will '08 front seats fit in my '03?

I got a '08 TL as a rental some time ago and I really like the front seats in them and want to know if they would fit into my '03 TL-S. I tried to research it, but can't get a definitive answer... Someone (anyone) let me know if this is possible...

I would really love to know this as well.

If I can find someone local who is willing to help me guinea pig I would do this.

I did a little looking and if you go by looking at the diagrams solely it doesnt look like it would work.

Here is a 3rd gen seat

here is a 2G seat

But you never know until you try it

What about any other year ranging from 04-08? Or are they all the same setup?

I looked at the 04, but the seat back looks flat, but the '08 appears to hug your back... I really liked it as when I was cornering in the rental, the seat did not let me move anywhere... awesome as hell....

I am starting to check the local yards and see if i can find some cheap just to guinea pig...

I didnt get pics but i just looked at my neighbors after getting a retarded look for asking and the connectors do not look the same or the rails. Now with that said im sure they could be switched and made to work but then the question arises Is it really worth it because for one the color will probably not match because of the age diff in the leather and they will not match the backseat leather and so on

But once you sit down, then its all good. I wouldnt do it anyways, just saying they are cool seats. The for amount of money for '08 seats and the custom work, its too much.

What???? What can you tell from that pic other than they look different? It shows NOTHING of the mounting system.

Even if the rails are different it MAY be possible to get the stock rails to bolt to the seat or change the existing rails to work. As for wiring i dont see it being hard to switch some of the pins/harness to work. You may loose some features like the Drivers position feature on the 02-03 but one wouldnt know till the seat was swapped over. I think the trickiest part would be getting the side airbag to work.

Every one said that the 6 speed wouldnt fit or work in our cars or would cost way to much to try to swap. We all know how that turned out.

thats why i did NOT say that they wouldnt work. I said if you go Solely off those diagrams i would say no because they look too different.

Then i had another post stating that i looked at the 2 in person and they still do not look like they will fit

Which is why i said without trying you wont know. It may be possible to get the 2G rails to bolt up to the seat without issue. Someone needs to find someone willing or buy a seat and try.
