Replacement AV6 Transmission

My replacement transmission on my 02-TLS is finally starting to go out (replaced at 100k, now have 235k). I want to extend the life of the car by a few years by replacing the transmission. Looking around I see that most people are using the Honda Accord 06-07 transmission as a replacement.

I'm having a little trouble verifying if the replacement transmission will fit. Can someone confirm that this is the right one?

Thanks.

On second thought I may just go with one made for the TL. These are from japan with less than 55k on them.

Here's another one that actually states that it will fit 04-06 TL. Look at the 'Item Description' tab.

Sorry, wrong TL. You have a 2nd generation. I think this will work for you; however, I not positive.

The transmission code needs to say BAYA. I would not buy one that doesn't.

That very more than likely is the correct transmission. I would verify with the seller that the transmission code is correct before buying. BAYA is the most recent compatible transmission that has all of the redesign features that corrected the fatal problems in our 2G TL transmissions. Don't let the seller convince you it's okay to buy anything other than a BAYA transmission.

Both providers show, not only pics. of many of their cars, along with pics. of the illuminated cluster, which displays actual mileage. These type sites, also allow you to shy away from cars, which were HIT IN THE FRONT! They also list the VIN, in case your interested in checking out the car's maintenance history.

Great! Thanks for the advice Chojun and Franknjr. The seller is local so I might go pay him a visit to confirm I am getting a 06-07 baya unit and not an older one. I tried searching car-part and the whole interface just seemed a little confusing.

That sounds great - also make sure that the BAYA transmission has the torque converter with it because your TL converter won't fit.
