Radio Code did not work.

I just purchased a used 2003 TL Type-S. The radio was locked and needed the security code. I contacted the delear for the code which they gave me. And it did not work instead I have an error now saying ErrE. It wont allow me to retry the number. What would be my options now.

How do you get the radio out to remove the antenna plug?

Also Do i have to do the code with the car in the on position or can it be running.

Radio code

Hello all,

I recently reset the radio code on my 03 TLS too. Here is how I got my to work.

1. Obtained valid radio code (5 digits)
2. Turn ignition key to the on position, and turn radio on
3. Enter key code

IF, there is still error, tried again.
Verified with the dealer, perhaps they giving you an invalid code.

HTH

Regards

You have to remove the wood trim pieces (just pull up and back) then remove the screws that hold the rear center console inplace and slide it back (there are 2 in the bottom of the center console) then remove teh screws for the side trim. You can then pull that off and slide your hand behind the radio to unplug it.

I would just turn the key to the run position.

Hate to revive an old thread, just tried this and it worked like a charm, spent all day frustrating myself putting in my radio code and waiting for the error to clear, took 10 mins, and it worked...
