Power seat question
I've been driving my son's TL for a week cuz of a brake problem and not safe for him so I gave him my car. [Total different story]
Every time I lock the doors, when I unlocked and open the driver's door the seat changes position. It doesn't happen if the door is not locked. He says it's done that since he bought it, a few years ago. It really bugs me. Just wondering if this is a problem with the memory switch or if it's normal and a way to stop it.
TIA

Do you change the position, of the seat, once you enter the car. If so, the seat, will automatically return, to it's pre-set position, the next time the car is unlocked. The position, depends upon which key fob is used to unlock the car. Normally, key fob #1, returns the seat to it's pre-set, and fob #2, to it's pre-set. After entering the car, select the seat position, your comfortable with. Than, hit the memory button, on the driver's door panel, and select position #1. Than, if the system is operating properly, the seat will return, to that selected position, each time that key fob, is used to unlock the door, regardless, of any change, in the seat's position, during a previous drive. A review, of the Operator's manual, will familiarize you, with the process. If you don;t have the manual, you can download one, using the Acura Owner's website.

Just to let anyone know who searches in the future it is from the key fob. The seat didn't change if I used the key to unlock the door. I noticed when I used the remote that the number 2 memory light was lit. Unfortunetally when I tried to reset the memory it wouldn't work so I guess the memory button is bad. Probably dirty contacts so I gotta tear it apart anyway.

FYI it won't work if the car is not in park, maybe some other circumstances. I forget now, I don't think the ignition needs to be on but you could try that. Just press red button once, then press the memory number. It should beep.
I *think* there is a way to unlink the memory seat functionality from the remote, but I don't remember off hand.
