personal advice on P0730
I was driving and my 2nd or 3rd gear was high reving so i let go of the gas. Than Vsa, engine light and Explanation point came on. But i didnt see D5 blinking. I ran the code and its a P0730. The fluid is still red and smells fresh. I have to go to a conference to Everett, WA this weekend on the car which is 350 miles each way. I cleared the code and the tranny sometimes acts up but thats when its on a stop light other than that its fine. I havnt cleaned the selenoid yet. Is this car safe to take on a road trip?

I personally wouldnt take the chance. D5 doesnt have to be blinking to have a dead trans

yeah... when my trans died, there was no blinking lights, no CEL or TCS light, nothing... just died all of a sudden. that pretty much fueled the thought of attempting the 6MT swap.

I only got flashing D5 once, and it couldnt be replicated
the code said engine overspeed- but since it ran fine and had not been overrevved--that meant the trans was slipping and giving false info to ecu
once it acts up - and you have to be somewhere distant...??
thats what Enterprise and other rental car companies are for!
better safe= than spending that same amount to get towed from the middle of nowhere

I am guessing my tranny is dead? it takes about 6 seconds to get into Reverse with a *clunk* sound. Second gear is still holding up but first is slipping and so are the rest. My wheels locked up for half a second on the freeway. Scared the tish out of me. I found an 06 Accord V6 tranny at a salvage yard with 36k on it for 1250. Now my question is: It IS a DIRECT swap correct? Because if it requires tapping/or drilling than I wont be able to swap it in my self. From what i understand, i just swap my stock sensors over. But would it be wise to just get new sensors? I am at 91k

see the thread on the swap-=-some minor drilling--of 1 thing iirc
wrecker may be able to do it for you
That seems really high priced,,have you looked online for prices?,,
are they getting it from another yard and doubling the price?

Can anyone give me a quick link to the swap? I need to know in advance to know what to do because i want to get the accord tranny tomorrow. Here are my questions so far.
1. the 06 honda accord v6 tranny , is it a direct swap?
2. what is an iirc? and how hard is it to drill ?
any other details would be great!
