how do i check if the pcv valve is good or bad 01 TL

the one i pulled out i can only blow thru one side, went and picked up a new one and can get air thru both sides

nevermind went ahead and put the new one on and it was bad after idleing for a couple of minutes started hearing ticking noises coming from underneath the car cel and tcs came on, ,cleaned the old one and put it back on until i can get an oe valve

the normal test is to shake it- ball inside should move freely
Clean with carb cleaner or deep creep,
or replace with parts store unit under 10 bucks iirc

sprayed some cleaner thru the old one put it back on seemed to work better, the new one i got at the zone is going back, i think i have a vac leak somewhere just gotta find it

It is just a simple valve, a spring and a ball. If your valve is bad, it could be an indication of your engine operation is not that good.

I don't believe the valve will allow air go to both ways. More like a backflow valve.

your exactly right the airflow is only one way, finally found that out today, anyway just didn't know for sure
