Part Number? Need help please
Good morning everyone,
This is a follow up in the ongoing saga of my TL and the new timing belt, water pump and valve gasket covers. After getting a great deal from a talented mechanic, I wrecked my car (had it back less than a week).
This morning I got up early and took off the bumper (before the snitches in the HOA caught me). I patched up the front end with a bungee cord and some duct tape.
The body shop guy ordered an aftermarket bumper cover, the wheel well housing (can't remember what he called it) and matching paint. He said they'd have it back to me in a day. My problem is the fog lights are toast. I told them just to skip replacing them. Will do it later when finances permit (it is actually a job I can do myself when the bumper is off).
The clip that plugs into the passenger's side fog light sheared off on impact. Do you have to order the whole assembly? Or just the clip and splice the wires? I'll post pix next of the part I'm talking about. Can someone help me out?
Thanks!

If it's the white connector, located at the top of the first pic., it's part of the front end lighting, wiring harness. It's difficult to identify such a part, on the OEM Acura Parts diagrams. If, you don't have convenient access, to a pick-n-pull salvage yard, your best bet, would be to call your local Acura Dealer Parts Department. The parts representative, should be able to identify this connector, and tell you if it's available separately.

Thanks Zeta and Frankjnjr,
I can't tell from the diagram whether I need 7, 10 or 17?
I pulled the surviving foglight from the bumper cover last night. I'll take it by the Honda dealership in the morning and see if they sell the connecting part separately from the whole harness. If not, I guess there is a salvage yard visit in my future.
I'll also need to invest in some new tools. I have a ratchet and sockets but no adaptor. Found out my teenager has misplaced or left behind or lost about half of my wrenches and all but two of my screwdrivers and a bunch of other stuff, too. Bad timing for sure. I had to use a 10mm socket, a flathead screwdriver and vice grip to remove the foglight.
What should/could I use to hold up the black cowl/fender parts that are exposed because the bumper cover is off. Zip ties?
Any other thoughts about driving it with the bumper off? I don't want to tear anything up but have no problems driving it like this until the parts come in.
Thanks everyone for your input.

Just because of the things that are exposed like the windshield washer reservoir and the radiator and headlight housings etc I personally wouldn't drive it at high speeds on the freeway -
But I mostly say that because toward the end of my commute a lot of dump trucks and belly-dumpers jump on the freeway and they drop crap all over the road and get off on the same exit where I do, where there's a rock quarry nearby. Both of my fog lights are trashed because of this. I actually found a small rock in one of my fog light housings...
That's my only personal concern driving without a bumper. I think you'd probably be okay for a short time.

Chojun is on point here. I did risk driving mine, for several days, while i repaired, and refinished the front bumper cover.. Luckily, no damage, from stones, occurred. I did tape all the exposed wiring connectors, to prevent dirt, and water from entering. I also zip tied the fog light harnesses, and the driver side splash shield, to prevent them from flapping around, at speed. My only real concern was, exposing the headlight ballasts, to direct water exposure, while driving in the rain. That's never a good thing!

I drove it to the grocery store last night. There are a lot of speed reducers (like speed bumps but huge) so it was tough going. Picked up some zip ties. They seem to be fine as a temporary solution but after reading your responses, I’m just going to park the car until the parts come in. My teen’s car is new (with all the bells and whistles) so I’ll drive it instead. But
I really prefer my Acura. I will be glad to get it back from the body shop. For a few laughs I’ll attach the zip tie pictures.

BTW the air intake resonator is the big black box in the bumper cavity right in front of the driver's side front wheel. Remove two bolts and it'll come right off and you'll have a nice throaty growl from the engine when you step on the gas. She'll purr around town and roar when VTEC kicks in...

Body shop called yesterday to let me know the bumper cover was painted.
Wish me luck! Taking her to the body shop today. Hoping to be back on the road this afternoon. Very happy!

Got my car back! It's pouring rain so I didn't take any pictures.
They checked the driver's side headlight (that has been "burned out" for two years) and the bulb was fine. The shop owner said, "sorry but it looks like it's the ballast this time."
But then I remembered I had an extra ballast in the trunk (leftover from the last time the headlights died). They swapped it out and it worked! I was so happy, I almost cried.
So, no passenger's side fog light until I find a replacement connector but, otherwise, I'm happy as a clam.

Chojun,
No I did not have that part of the car removed. I think I mentioned the body shop guys (not the engine repair and maintenance place) are all performance racing fans. The father and son had multiple racing awards on the shop wall. And lots of pictures from races, too. Someone was inquiring about the cost of a Ferrari hood while I was there. It was pretty inspiring (and now I get why my cosmetic damage was no big deal) to see what a bunch of phenomenal drivers they were. Awesome!
So when I asked about removing that part to make the car “growl” they looked at me like I was nuts (but in a respectable way).
I suppose I could go outside and remove it myself, but, as I predicted, I got a letter from the HOA in the mail today. What a bunch of trolls.

So if I'm reading this letter correctly, they are assuming a car without a front bumper cover is "inoperable" ?
Good grief.
If you are talking to shop owners accustomed to Ferraris and point to your TL asking about a 'growl' then I guess it makes sense that they'd give you the side-eye. All the resonator does is masks noise from the intake to keep the ride as quiet as possible. "Luxury" I guess. High-performance exotics probably don't have resonators for this purpose so I suppose it's _possible_ they have no idea what you're talking about lol! At any rate, it's not a big deal, just a fun modification!

Chojun,
What annoyed me the most about the letter (other than the fact the car was actually operable) was that they expressed no concern over the welfare of anyone involved in the collision. I can't stand the HOA.
Frankjnjr,
I'm in. Can you PM me your address? We can work the rest out.
You can both wish me the best of luck installing the foglight without getting caught or cited by the HOA. I had to put on the zip ties in the Publix parking lot for that very reason!
Anyway, you guys are the best! Thanks for the moral support and advice.
