P1710 with dash lights on, advice on next steps?

Our car is a 2003 Acura 3.2TL.

Yesterday the TCS, ABS, 1st Gear lamp, Check Engine Lamp are on, AND car threw a P1710 two days earlier.

Transmission oil was changed several years ago and was VERY dark (black like very old Engine Oil) and the car ran great after that. It also went through the recall for this year.

I believe the there is a high probability that the Transmission Solenoid Filters may be clogged and causing the dash lights to stay on. Since this ALL happened at the same time, I think it's related to the P1710 fault but I'm not sure what the relationship is between the lamps and clogged filters and P1710 code. My first planned step is to have the Transmission fluid changed today AND clean the solenoid filters to see what happens. But does anyone know if this might clear the 1710 code as well????

Thank you.

I don't see any mention about how the car is running...is it doing fine otherwise? i.e are there any other codes?

If not, the manual gives a pretty detailed troubleshooting process (14-328) of how to pinpoint the issue, here are a few links that have information on how to obtain that if you don't have it.

thanks for this info, we will check out these links now.

The car drives great. No slips or lurches or anything like that.

we decided to follow the diagnostic but first we lucked out and found a selector switch detent bracket assembly at a nearby pick and pull! That was cool because they are backordered at Acura parts everywhere and a new one is $350.

Code disappeared after replacement but ABS and TCS lights are still on. Should we check fuses or is there a special tool to check ABS status? We have an OBD code reader but it doesn't check ABS status. Thank you.
