P0138 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

Hi All :

I'm getting a code P0138 and I want to ask for help confirming I'm ordering the correct part.

I've decoded this to mean that the downstream O2 sensor is defective and I would need to order a "#019 36532-P8C-A21 SENSOR,OXYGEN,RR"

I find that $120.23 is a little pricey, so I'm going to order a Denso part as I'm told this is the original supplier for this part. The issue I have is that there are about 6 six different Denso models that will fit a 99 TL and I'm not sure which one is correct ?

Has anyone had any experience with this code and/or replacing O2 sensors ?

Thanks for any help in advance !

smarty...

It's a fairly rare code, but a rear o2 usually takes care of it. If not, occasionally an aftermarket convertor will cause it. A denso 2344621 should be the correct sensor. Try rock auto, they show it for less than $30.

Thanks "Trash" !

Now that I have the correct Denso part #, I found one one Amazon for ~$27.

Now, I just have to crawl under the car and loosen off the old one......

I got mine from amazon and this is the one...

Amazon Amazon

and it's been on my 99tl since March 2009 with no issue and both front & rear O2 sensors from amazon are still working. I did my review there too. I guess you found the same one that I mentioned. Yes, Denso is the one that oem brand for our Acura and Honda.

Thanks "winhansse"

I've ordered the part form Amazon plus 2 HID bulbs. Best prices I could find for both of these items.

Anyone got any tips on loosening the O2 sensor without damaging the CAT ?
