No "accessory" power and shifter moves freely
I recently picked up a 99 tl for really cheap due to it needing some tlc and I am currently stuck. When I turn the key to the on (accessory) position, nothing happens. No dash lights no beep no nothing, just silence. When I put the key in, I get the 4 beeps, but that's it. I noticed the car has an autopage alarm so could this be the result of a kill switch? I have shecked and replaced my "small light" fuse already.
As for the shifter, it moves from park to 1 freely without the key being in the ignition. When I place it in park the wheels lock, but I can take it out of park with ease. I'm unsure of what's the problem. If you have any suggestions/ideas please chime in.

shift interlock switch is bad, allowing shifter movement without key
99s had a recall on ignition switch, then replacement goes bad!
Solution: replace with aftermarket part- 50 bucks, see DIY section for easy method
Most likely part of your car to need attention when starting problems occur
Are you seeing the green key icon on dash when key inserted?
that means the system recognizes the key as being for that car
aftermarket alarms --electrical nightmares,,what happens when you pull the fuse for that?
how is the battery voltage? have it fully charged and load tested for free at most parts stores
low volts will drive you nuts!!

Ill change out the shift interlock and see what happens
Ill put the ignition in my working tl and see if it works.
The green key light doesn't come on. The key and ignition im using are from a diff tl. However when I used tha same ignition key combo in my current tl, everything worked except for starting the car.
Also, I don't know where the aftermerket alrm reset button would be. I've only had the factory setup. If it helps any, its an autopage alarm. On a diff note when I press the aftermarket fob, nothing happens. The fob lights up but that is all

update
So I used my current TL's battery and ignition switch on my new tl. The result was the same. I'm leaning heavily toward paying someone to take a look at this alarm for me.
