Hi All, the above post is why I joined.

Last week I sold my '98 Maxima [W/ VQ30 engine] and bought a '02 TL-S w/ 81K. The Maxima was great, did e-v-e-r-y thing very well & was extremely reliable. Comparing it to the TL-S was like looking at a Chevette next to a Romulan Bird of Prey. One would get you to the market, the other will kick your ass!

I'm not sure about the transmission issues (been reading them threads!) since the person I bought the car from knew nothing about it really, or so he said. I got it cheap, so hopefully no major parts will fall off this week and make me regret my purchase. I will call Acura next week with the VIN and see what they tell me regarding the transmission warranty.

Yes, the mileage sucks so far, but I knew that from previous searches about the TL-S. Also, I have a tendency to be a bit of a lead foot & the OH SH*T grin I have now is my Christmas present to me
FWIW, I plan on doing a complete tear-out of the audio system and installing an IPOD friendly head-unit / 10 disc changer (yeah, my kids tell me i'm old school) / separates in all 4 doors / rear deck goodness / multi-amp set-up / sub box in trunk. I will photo capture the fun and add it to previous material.
I've spent more years than I can count in the audio electronics field, but have a million miles to go in the car mechanical field (which equals about 20 TL transmissions, no?) That makes this forum more valuable for a person who is as lazy as I am.
I am lucky that a close relative works for HNA and I can grab correct part numbers (and check their pricing as well) as I break things during the journey.
I hope to keep the car as stock looking as possible; the visual changes will be done only to enhance performance (i.e. using superior springs and lowering the chassis to increase handling abilities, etc.) because I like the lines on the TL.
*My second car is a '68 LeMans.... talk about bad mileage!
