Negative Battery Cable

I was doing a drain and fill on my transmission a couple days ago and saw the negative battery cable that goes to the transmission ripped off from the terminal and all stranded out... Can I solder a copper terminal back to it and put it back on? New ones are like 40 bucks and I got so much other parts to purchase ( tires, rotors, purge solenoid etc).

I have 4 gauge wire I was gonna do a big 3 upgrade on my civic with but I'm not sure if it's big enough.

I don't see why not.

Just to clarify; the damage is limited to the cable (at the crimped loop connector) and there is no damage to the bracket it connects to? (the same bracket that is bolted down with the ATF warmer and supports the wire harness that comes over the top of the transmission)

Regardless:

Ground strap: Can be picked up for $11 and under on amazon. I picked this one up for $8 at the time:
Bracket: Can be obtained for $11 on the oem site. probably $3 at the junkyard. I try to get all my non-plastic, non-rubber and non-critical components from the yard. You can probably pick up a non-broken strap as well.

Root cause: Sounds like something has been tugging on that end of the transmission; might want to look into a worn motor mount if not done already.

people that do the upgrade typically go for 0 gauge.. 4 gauge is pretty close to OEM spec already (can't remember exact gauge off the top of my head)

This is the cable I'm relating to .. The uncovered copper section is stranded out and ripped off. leaveinf the gold terminal on the transmission.

+1

Definitely my go-to place for parts. I've had to replace mine as well. I supposed you could crimp a new connector on there, but you might need some heavy duty clamping to get that job done.

 Sorry about the misunderstanding on my part; I thought you meant ground strap which was incorrect.
