Need someone knows how long to calculate emmisions after battery swap 2003 3.2 TL
 

Hey everyone :D. I have a 2003 Acura TL (not S) with 3.2 engine auto transmission. I had the check engine light come on a bit back.. but the battery failed in the middle of trying to retreive codes with a Actron CP 9575. I also have a foxwell NT301. I had to go and buy a new battery. Of course when I did, the check engine light was reset. I also need to run it through inspection, but wanted to know the codes before I did so in case it is something simple I can straighten out before making the drive to the inspection lanes. The thing is that with a TL and likely other Honda models is that I know I have to drive it so many minutes, hours, or some may think of it as miles before the car's computer decides it's completed it's checks. I wish I knew roughly how long it takes because it's a bit of a pain to not know.. not to mention, I may need to unhook the battery again depending on what needs to be done and then that waiting process starts all over. I wish there was an easier way. Does anyone have any idea. If I remember, I think the car's computer tends to be done with calculating the codes for emmisions and be complete around 40 miles of driving, after I did this some years back. Of course that could vary depending on speed, how long sitting idling etc. :rolleyes:

I've usually been able to get the readiness monitors to report ok in one drive cycle(unlike my Ford F150). Two biggest things are that the fuel level should be around 3/4 full and that the car should be dead cold(let sit over night).

The following are what the computer needs to set each of the 5 monitors. They pretty much overlap each other with the Evap leak monitor being the most retstrictive. Keep in mind, all 5 monitors are testing at the same time so it can be done in one drive cycle. Having your scan tool connected will tell you what your progress is as you go. Good luck.
