In Need of Assistance with Front ABS Sensor
The ABS and TCS light came on my mom’s 2001 Acura TL. The car has about 101k on it. I went to a mechanic and he said it was the front right ABS brake sensor. I was able to unbolt the sensor but only the top half of the sensor broke off along with a bunch of copper wires. The rest of the sensor is still is in the steering knuckle. I am looking for suggestions on how to remove the rest of the sensor so I can replace it. Thanks.

Pull the axle and tap what's remaining of the sensor through the hole with a punch. Make sure to clean the hole and the saddle area where the sensor bolts in until it's rust free. Lube the knuckle contact points with anti-seize so it doesn't happen again. One last thing, If the new sensor doesn't easily go into the hole don't force it. Hone out the hole again until it slides easily.

yup, you could try that. Might save some time. Take care not to damage the tone ring at the bottom of the hole. Spraying some penetrating fluid all around the remaining portion of the sensor might not be a bad idea as well
