when mine blew i had my unichip installed, they would have never known about it if they hadn't changed out the ecu. it was funny, when they installed the new tranny they kept getting error codes, they changed out the ecu 3 times. they called me & told me they were going to have to charge me labor, because my unichip was the prblem. The dum shits finnally figured out they were trying to install a tl-p ecu in a tls. they were a little embarressed.

The recall your talking about good luck. Due to mileage and mostly time frame I think your screwed. Almost 100% of transmissions from 99 to 2003 and maybe beyond have problems. I have a 99, transmission was changed 8 years ago. also have a 2003 that needs a transmission now. If the rest of the car wasn't in suck great shape I would part it out.

Dude this is a 12 year old thread...
They most likely no longer own the car anymore nor care about the situation OP was in over a decade ago.
