Unhappy My brother TOTALED my month-old TLS!

yesterday night, his girl was telling him that she wants to go home and crap like that, i told her to just stay, my bro was tired, and it was midnight, she kept saying she gotta go home, ok, so my bro never returned, i called him, he's going to the hospital, and told me that he fell asleep driving
i went to the scene, believe it or not, i cried seeing my car all wrecked! that is just so sad, i just had the car for about a month and a half, and not only will i have a piece of junk that's worth nothing, i'll have to pay for the damage he did to the cars parked on the street... omg... it was so close to home as well, why couldn't he just stayed awake longer... apparently he only has a broke arm and dislocated wrist, and he's in surgery now, my mom is totally screwed over, this just SUCKS

hmmmmm
i'm thinking if i buy a new TL, which will definately not be a black one because summer's almost over, i don't have time to wash once every 1/2 week or so, unfortunately, i think i will get the Anthracite Metallic one, what do you guys think? and this totally ruins my plan of buying the S2000 next month
this just suck so much

Man, that totally sucks! I don't know how the laws are in Canada, but in the US the insurance on the car takes precedence over the driver's insurance. You really have to worry about who you let drive your car.

Sorry to hear about it.

the TL has a good safety rating, obviously
it was a full frontal crash into the parked cars on the side of the street, so it was better than he hit those than any oncoming cars...

Sorry to hear about your brother's unfortunate accident, and your loss

If you can hold out, you should wait until the '04s come out and see how they look. Rumor has it it will be rear wheel drive, etc...

i don't need a RWD car, because i already have a 330Ci sitting at home
i want a practical car that can take me around all year long

i heard it's not going to be RWD as well, apparently that would cost Acura too much

anyways, i cant wait, so i don't know... sigh

Sorry to hear about your mishaps. I hope your bro will recovery soon and that your insurance will take care of everything which they usually do. You can't really blame his g/f either, things like this happens and you should look at it on the brighter side - your bro and his g/f is still alive. Good luck dude.

Make the girl pay. I hate girls that do that. She was the cause of this accident and you make sure she knows that.

Sorry to hear about your brother and your new car. Are you sure it's totalled??? Thats a brand new car so to have it totalled it needs to be i think 75% of the value which is over 20K. Thats a lot of damage to do hitting a parked car.

even if they don't say it's total, i will take it as one
why? because my whole front end in crumbled, i don't like to have a car that is fixed from such a wreck, the structural rigidy just won't be there, and if it ever crashes again, who knows what will happen

it was quite severe, because he rear-ended a g.cherokee that's parked on the side of the road which rear-ended this old car in front of it which rear-ended a cavalier in front of it

I totally agree with you. But if they say its not totalled you get the car back after being fixed if you like it or not. If you choose to sell it after that, thats your choice. Insurance companies suck.

The irony of your comment is that it is not entirely impossible for her to file a claim and/or sue him and/or his insurance for physical and/or emotional trauma as a result of the accident. As harsh as it may sound, he is ultimately responsible for the accident...

In any case, I hope he recovers from his injuries, and that your (STi) car issues get resolved in an amicable manner.

broken left arm, but he got surgery yesterday, he's fine now, but still in hospital

TL's a safe car though, just that he should've put his hand in the 9 o'clock position, that way he would've been perfectly ok
