Ok so today so we got the new motor off the pallet and truck and onto the floor with 5 people and a good hour without a fork lift. Took us a few approaches but basically ended up muscling it onto the ramp and just used the cherry picked to move it up the driveway from there and into the backyard where its resting for now. Also got all the 6 speed parts organized and ready to start putting in tomorrow as soon as I wake up! Here's a bunch of pics.

I felt like a little happy ass kid when I finally got to see this and started opening it.

Another

FINALLYYYYYY! J32A2! Since my motors are sitting side by side right now I can see how much larger and beastly this one looks next to the tlp motor. makes it look like a little baby in comparison LOL

On the pallet in the Uhaul

Another. You can see my car in the back sleeping

6MT ECU and engine wiring harness

Buncha boxes and a new axle for the passenger side

Again

Pedals

Shifter and e brake

Cupholder and shifter

Just had to do it....for the westside haha

too excited.....

On the cherry picker finally!

Again

Last one before I stopped taking pics because I got too excited and started cleaning out my bay

Right now I just finished Simple Green-ing my engine bay and some of the new motor and am going to do it again tomorrow because it got too dark to want to work on it anymore. Its looking shiny and more ready than ever to have that motor dropped in. So tomorrow Im probably going to wake up early and start installing the 6 speed parts and get to working on everything else and as much as I can. Hopefully I will be done with everything by the end of the month because thats my goal.

I picked up the parts from a member on here for a great price. Im going to make a parts list later on and break it down with pricing for each part. But basically it was around 3200 total for everything including shipping from the east coast.

Katabatic. I would say it is both time consuming and hard. But, I have never done anything like this before so I was going into it without any professional skills. At first when I read about it and looked over it it seemed impossible for me. But, once I started reading and learning then actually doing it is when learned that it's really not impossible and that it's doable with time, effort and lots of patience. You learn a lot in the process, at least I did and am still learning because I'm still not even done with the swap yet haaha. Bottom line is if you want to do it then it can be done even if ur like me with no professional skills. Hope that helps!

As of now I have bolted up the new ebrake lines and parking brake handle and the shifter plate center area. I have pics just havent uploaded them yet havent had much time. Also working on taking out the dash to redo the wiring for the manual harness. Almost have the whole dash out its bein a PITA. Haven't been really working on the car as much as I'd like to lately I've been busy with work and other life problems. Probably going to get a good full days work in on Sunday cause That's my next day off. When I get a chance I'll post up a few more pics

So today I spent most of my time taking out my dashboard and all the wiring. I spent about 4 hours on it cause the sun goes down pretty early nowadays and I didnt feel like working in the dark with the mosquitoes lol. Anyways, plans are to mount the motor in tomorrow and get it settled in then hook up everything else (clutch pedal which I also test fit today and new brake pedal from the cl) also after i get the motor in ill start with the wiring which is going to be a royal pain in the ass. Anyways, onto the pics.

Dash coming out

!!!!!!

Almost there.........

A bunch of shit in my backseat hahahaa

Behind the dashboard. Always wondered what that looked like

so....much....wiring.....

Motors side by side from the rear view

another one behind the dash

random shit...

finally out

what have i gotten myself into lol

Dash out on the floor

New wiring harness and manual ecu

Also decided to clean up my bay a little bit and move my fenders out the way to do a wire tuck when i slap the motor in so i simple greened the fender area a bit to shine it up some.
Before

after

and just a few random ones from a few days ago i didnt upload

cant wait

So yea thats it for now until tomorrow. Gonna take more pics once i start putting the motor in and getting everything hooked up again. Its going to be a long day.

Looks like it's coming along nice. Once it starts getting put together it should go fast. Or feel like it at least. I still got a little work left but it's almost done. I'm waiting for another starter. Junkyard sent me the wrong one And I was racing against myself but if it helps motivate you more we can race haha. I still have to get richie's module so I don't know when I'll be completely done done. Hopefully up and running by next weekend though.

DUUUUUDE you have LARGE balls.....insane. I would not approach this on my own, I could get it all out, but putting it back together would suck. I do have a TL-S so i already have the right motor. But still, terrifying.

so today i hooked up the new brake pedal and started on the clutch pedal until i realized i cant bolt it in without hooking up the master cylinder first, so i put the motor in. motor is basically in i finished bolting down the motor mounts and got everything lined up but it got too dark to finish so i stopped for today. tomorrow im gonna finish putting it in completely then start hooking up hoses and lines and clips and all that fun stuff. only took a few pics today since i was lazy.

old brake pedal

gone

side by side

new one in

motor going in

getting there

this was the last one before i started working more and pretty much got the rest of it in just didnt take any pics.

So my tranny is starting to goe tits up...go figure. What would this mod cost me, just the parts required for the 6spd swap. is it about the same as buying a new auto tranny?

Just parts alone total for everything(motor, tranny, 6 spd parts) I paid about 3k and another 200 for shipping. Not sure what the auto tranny would be compared to this but it's probably around the same unless you're buying the tranny by itself then obviously it's cheaper. Then there's more if you're not installing it yourself cause of labor.

Ok I need some help. When I'm putting in the motor it looks like there's a front and rear engine damper but no place to mount it. Is it necessary for the installation cause the helms manual says to install it for the M/T models but there's no spot on my subframe so do I need to drill holes or just remove it? Cause the pic is different from what's on my motor
