Now that's a true car enthusiast! You change the color of your car more than most people replace their brakes. I wasn't a fan of the tan but this new color looks awesome!

looking great! what spray gun do you use? I thought you'd get more orange peel with a DIY, but there's barely any.

its all about the prep in most cases, ill spend half a day sanding and then paint and clear will only take about an hour or so total and I let it sit for a few hours. and I use the Kobalt paint gun from lowes. its not the best but better than a harbor freight lol and ive used it for years now.

I did my wifes new rsx in the same color and its got some orange peel that I need to cut and buff out this week.

if you are skilled enough to put in that kinda prep, why not invest in a decent gun?
killer results though...

honestly I have thought about it but I don't paint enough to spend $4-500 on a decent sata gun. the kobalt gun does what I need and does it well enough for me not to upgrade. if I had access to a nice paint booth and nicer equipment to use while painting I might upgrade but for a garage paint job im happy with it lol

what do you do for work?
I have a close friend that started off a backyard painter too and I guess getting good results with cheap stuff actually made him an exceptional painter...great at understanding product and prep and getting the peel right etc...
very impressive work, I have a lot of respect for you.

That paint job looks gorgeous! Do you use a power sander to prep, or paper sheets and patience?

for best results you want to hand sand everything while also using a block for long straight areas. power sanders are good when starting from scratch or doing large areas with filler, but my car with was still straight from the last time I sanded it and held up well so it just needed a good scuff

The sun really plays with that colour. So much darker at night. Any luck finding side skirts or rear skirt?

well small update I did finally get the fuel gauge working again and I did fix the rest of the smaller electrical things like the rear driver window and lock so everything is working as close to factory as can be for now. got a few more things to do to get the car back up to where I want it to be then im prolly gonna sell it. needs new rear window tint and new front windshield and im gonna put some stock seats back in it, and other small things like that but it will all be fixed along with a new rad support getting installed soon

gonna most likely get a 07-11 si sedan and do some stuff to it as my next daily driver

Well guys she is totaled getting the settlement check this week. And I’m about to do it all over again lol found me another TL to throw it all back into haha but once I’m done I’ll be putting it up for sale. Clean title and clean shell not accident and this paint is in pretty good shape and it’s white so the wheels will still look good on the new TL. Let me know if any of you guys are interested I’ll take some pics of the new shell this weekend when I pick it up

Hope no one got hurt.

Sorry to see all that hard work gone in an instant, but as long as everybody was able to come out of that injury-free, that's great.

The fact that you're ready to do it all over again means you didn't quite get enough enjoyment out of it the first time around. lol
