Ditto......I got my sunroof fixed by the dealer and it's quiet now. I really want to say something about the rattles in my dash, but I don't want to be so picky. I bet they wouldn't even know how to fix it. Is it worth a try? Has anyone actually gotten the dealer to fix dash noises?

I have had the sunroof noise and the driver's seat noise in both of my TLs, and the dealer fixed them. Made me wonder why they didn't just "fix" it at the factory.

i did pay a trip to the dealer to fix the dash rattle, squeeky driver seat & the front wheel fender. a little bit better than before. however, the plastic fender is broken again two days ago. sh?t! also, i figured out that the noise fm the driver seat actually coming fm the connection btw the seat & the seat belt connector. once u move the connector a little bit, the noise is gone. but i will pay another trip to the dealer as the fender & the rattle are driving me crazy.

its between the engline and the wheels. if you look behind the wheels you will see big black plastic barrier.

I have the squeeky seat thing too, but it's not too bad and doesn't happen all the time. I'll have to do a search on that seatbelt thing... maybe that'll help....

Yep....squeeky seat here too. I had the dealer fix it and they told me it would come back...and they were right! Im taking it in for its second oil change, tire rotation and tranny flush shortly....I think I'll ask them about the seat again too.....

Dash rattle

My TLS has dash rattle. At first, Acura of Pleasanton put
in some tape around the instrument plastic panel and
the soft vinyl dash. The squeaking noise is gone. After
2 weeks, new source of rattle appears. It sounds like
some clip on the instrument panel is coming loose. This
rattle is really hard to reproduce. It comes and goes and
happens often during nighttime.
If I pressed on the panel, the rattle seems to be stopped.

I couldn't reproduce it at dealership. Perhaps I might try
it again in my next oil change visit.

If anyone had the dash rattle fixed, perhaps you can share
your info with us. That might help dealer to find the source
too

I don't think they'd listen....they're too busy telling the consumer what he/she wants to listen. Why else would they get rid of the Civic SiR? I'm sure they know about this site, but they'd rather cut corners than make a squeak/rattle-free car. Still, you have to admit that our cars are amazing.

My TL-S was squeak & rattle free until about 4,500 miles. Then the sunroof squeak started almost overnight and it was *very* loud. Lucikly the stereo goes even louder. My closest dealer is over an hour away so I didn't want to make the trip just for the sunroof issue. I decided to wait until something else cropped up. Well, I registered at acura.com for the owner's link and discovered my '02 fell under the seatbelt recall (never got a letter BTW--thanks Acura). And I thought I had a noisy idler pulley as well (although that was a "could not duplicate" and hasn't returned since). However, from the time I first started hearing the sunroof squeak until the day I brought the car in for service, I *thought* I started hearing a bunch of squeaks from various other places in the front of the car (dash, center column, etc). The dealer applied the teflon tape to the sunroof opening and the car is now perfectly silent. No squeaks, moans or groans anywhere.

Moral of the story: if you haven't fixed the sunroof squeak, what you *think* may be coming from the dash area could be coming from over your head. Sound sources can play funny tricks on your ears in an auto environment. Try the sunroof fix first. It's quick and easy at the dealer.

To fix the drivers side squeak, spray some WD40 in the seatbelt receptacle. The buckle rubs against the sides producing a slight squeak; mine is now gone.

For the sunroof the dealer has a fix, so let them do it!!!!!!! The problem is known and they have a known fix invloving a clear gasket that goes arounf the sunroof opening. When going on unlevel surfaces the ar frame twists at a different rate than the glass, and the rubber gasket around the glass rubs against the paint producing the noise. The gasket they apply wont make that noise.
