Question Low Fuel Warning Light

Does anyone know approximately how many gallons are left in the gas tank when the low fuel warning light comes on?

i dont know exactly but it seems like the light comes on at around 1/4 tank. i have driven 90+ miles with the fuel light on. so it has to be at least 4.

At least 4 gallons...I believe they set it up that way, assuming u get 25mpg, so u get 100 miles to get to a gas station... every time my light turns on, i only fill up 12-13 gallons..

Mine has about 3 gal left, sometimes a hair under. I consider there to be 50 miles left w/ the light on to be safe, and reset the trip odo when it comes on to keep track.

Mine takes anywhere from 3-4 gallons if I stop close to the time the light goes on. While conservative, at least it gives you a good cushion to shop for the best price.

My light just came on this morning, on the way to work. I put in 12.8 gallons. Assuming the tank only holds the advertised 17 gallons, it would seem that the reserve is just over four gallons. I should pont out that the fuel gage needle was way below the quarter tank point.

Colorado, it could be the elevation causing it to dip lower or maybe everyone is a little different. I have 3 to 4 gallons left at a quarter tank.

One little difference that I see from the TL to my Accord, in the Accord, as you hit "ding-ding", aka, low light, it will slowly and quite creepy glow on and off as you are at the threshold of the light coming on, then come on steady as you continue to empty. the TL, once it comes on, it just stays on full. I'm assuming the Accord varies with hills and acceleration for the guage.

But I concur, about 3 gallons left, I do one more trip to work after ding-ding and often put in 14 gallons.

Furthest I've ever gone was put in 16.2 in the Accord.. on a 17.1 gal tank.. it was big time ding-ding.

Sherlock is correct about the Accords low fuel light on my 90&94 they would glow on & off when you make turns go up hills. The TL light will just come on & stay on.
