loud Creeking noise when turning the steering wheel

Hey guys,

Well the cold weather hit Toronto pretty bad today and it's -20C. For some reason I took the TL today and it started making this very weird noise which is coming from the outside of the car. It's only noticeable when turning right. The sound is non-existent when I turn the wheel left. I figured that the car needed to warm up, however even when fully warm, it still makes an evident noise.

I'm going on a road trip tomorrow for a few days, and want to make sure this isn't gonna be a serious problem

Can someone post up if they've had this problem before??

It sounds somewhat like a "clacking" noise...I was thinking possibly a tie rod end or a ball joint.

What you guys think??

if it's a "tick tick tick" noise then it could be ur right axle. i'm not mechanic but thats what i've experienced with that kind of noise.

SC354 you ever have the transmission replaced yet? a month or so after mine got replaced, when it started to get real cold out i got the clicking noise on turns, it took several times of bringing my car to the dealer and finally leaving it over night and getting a rental (on them of course) before they finally figured out what i told them all along. It was the right axel, they think when the tranny was removed the mechanic may have carelessly droped the axle and damaged it.
