Looking for quick opinions on getting rear main seal leak fixed
Just was wondering what people opinion was on getting the rear main seal replaced without replacing the tranny.
My rear main has been leaking for quite some time and although my tranny is going great (it is the post 05 update) if y'all think it is worth waiting for the tranny to go out before paying the labor to drop it and replace seal. It shifts great and doesn't have any issues, but want the seal replaced soon. Should I spend the extra $800 and swap trans or just pay the labor for the seal to be replaced?
Again just looking for thoughts and opinions, not trying to waste anyone's time
Also quick note, I replaced the pcv valve with autozone brand and it stopped leaking(like bone dry), even after returning from a 500 mile trip still dry but after a month and 2k miles it's slowly leaking again. Is this because of the cheap pcv not lasting? Will OEM probably remedy my problem?
Thanks and have a great day!

ck that new PCV, is it clogging already? Spend the 20 bucks at dealer for the genuine one
If a cheap one stopped the leak, then it was a pressure related issue, not a total seal failure- that's good news!
Keep a close eye on the engine oil level and ck inside the inspection plate for rear main, only 2 small bolts hold cover on
Wipe out oil and monitor amount of leak

old PCV : leak
replaced with autozone PCV: no leak, then leak
Replace PCV = no more leak!
I'm an engineer :beam:
Hell, if i were in your shoes, I'd go and pay dealer prices for the PCV if it meant potentially not having to replace the rear main seal..
