Knocking sound when turning steering wheel.
Yet another problem with my TL... When I turn my steering wheen (in park or while driving), it makes knocking sounds. Anyone know what this could be? On a side note, I've noticed the steering wheel doesn't turn as easily as it used to, especially with the A/C on.
I have a 99 TL with 87k miles on it.
Thanks,
Roshan

Where is the noise coming from, and how loud is it? How far do you have to turn the steering wheel to hear the noise?
My rough guess -- I would venture to guess that the stabilizer bar linkage has come off and is hitting the hub when you turn the wheel.
Take off your front wheels and inspect, if you know your way around a car. Otherwise, have a shop take a look at it.

I'm having the same problem I was told it might be my cv joint. I have 03 TL with 75k miles on it. I haven't looked into it much just been ignoring it (the worst thing to do) but I been driving the other car lately letting the TL sit untill I have time to go back and work on it.
