Keyless entry not working

hey everyone, so a few months ago i bought replacement remotes for my 99TL. Original one wasn’t working well. Seemed fairly simple to do since it had great reviews from people that have bought aftermarket. Did all the steps and procedures to make the new remotes pair up but nothing. NO LUCK AT ALL. Was looking into replacing the relay or whatever it is that reads the remote from the inside, but i figured before doing any “major” work I’ll come here and ask away

also, would the radio be of any issue if it came to reprogramming new remotes. Original radio crapped out on me so i replaced it with an 03 OEM radio. I think i read somewhere that in order to reprogram new remotes, radio must be original or something like that. LMK if anyone has some details about this. Thx

What was "not working well" with the original remote? Do the FCC IDs match? The procedure is a bit prone to error. How many times did you try the programming process?

didnt check the fcc IDs and the original remote holder for the battery desolder. Figured I’ll get new ones instead. I did it as many times as instructed. I’ll check the fcc IDs

I thought I had a faulty remote, but turns out I was doing the procedure wrong. I'd say double-check it and if there's any steps where you think you could potentially be doing it wrong, try it the other way to see if it works. I did so and suddenly I started hearing my locks actuate!
