So I was messing with my headlights and noticed my tranny is a K7WA trans.? I thought they came with B7WA? I googled it but didn't come up with anything.

K7WA is the trans from a CL IIRC?.
The TL and CL did not use the same code numbers for the same transmission so the B7WA is specific to the TL/S.. Your car seem to had a transmission swap early in its life.

It sure it is... Honda did just name them differently for the CL & TL, Even though the design is the same..
It did it too for the Accord, Odyssey, Pilot, MDX they all different Names but are based on the same shitty design.

Although that "RMK" makes me believe its a blue-bolt transmission.. Do you see the bolts covered in blue paint all around?

Hey Skirmich, my 2003 TLS has the PW7 A87 RMK designation above the B7WA lower bar code label, but does not have any " Blue painted bolt heads ". It is my understanding that the RMK designation indicates a later design transmission. Unfortionately Acura, nor I have any record of a transmission change in my car, nor can Acura tell me exactly what the RMK designation means?

It could be that RMK means its the design with the Jet Kit built in... Although I do not recall if it had blue bolts or not.

I gotcha. Just hope it lasts until I get some $ saved up! Because I love the car. It's my 3rd Honda.

Ran across this snippet of information on (Honda-Acura.net website: { " Just because the seller said it was the original trans doesn't mean it is. Check the transmission for a label on the front side of the torque converter case. If it says "RMH", "RMK", or "RMS" - it's a genuine Honda/Acura reman tranny. This would be a good thing. If you can see black gasket edge sticking out from the case halves, it's a non-Honda reman transmission. If neither of these apply, then the trans is more than likely the original. " } May explain why, at 233K + miles, my transmission is still going strong! Mine is NOT, a blue bolt transmission.

I am swapping my B7WA 5 spd AT with a B7VA 5spd AT from a tls. Is there anything i should be aware of. I am not a mechanic by trade, but have swapped engines in my wifes taurus TWICE!

^ The difference between those 2 is just gearing on the first 3 gears... Both of those transmissions are EQUALLY Unreliable.
