Just Purchased 01 TL. Have Questions

I just got a 2001 Acura TL last week. It has 180,000 miles and is still running strong. Hopefully I will put some pics up this week. It's bone stock and I am wanting to change that. I'm not making it a 10 second car but want to make it fun. Can you guys help me with some questions I have. Thanks

Exhaust, I want the car to breathe better and sound better. (Midmuffler removeal? Change mufflers?)

Have a CB, want to use it for PA. Maybe a speaker in the grille?

How do I clean ECG? Want to have better gas mileage

It's not a type-s, is the motor vtec?

Needing new tread real soon. What is good for you guys. Want some type-s wheels. what will fit and how much are used ones?

What are some simple things I can do to increase performance? Where can I new intake.

Thanks everyone for the help

Before you do any of that or make it go faster have you done all the maintenance? with that many miles you want to make sure everything is changed and good such has engine oil, transmission fluid has been changed, seafoam the car, also check your plugs.

For exhaust the atlp gives the most performance gains, looks, and sounds. Next to that imo would be the comptech exhaust with b-pipe and headers. Might want to look into a comptech icebox or cai.

Not sure what a cb or pa is or why you want a speaker in your grille.

I think what you meant to say was egr and there is a diy in the diy sticky at the top.

Yes non type-s have vtec but less power 45hp i think.

Tires i used were bridgestone potenza don't remember which ones exactly but just look at some reviews on tire rack for an idea. Want to know more about rims and tires go to the wheels section of the forum.

Most of your questions have been answered many times, just make a quick search and you should find all your answers.

Congrats on the new car and hope you enjoy it as mush as i did with mines.

if you look on the motor.. there is a huge 3.2 VTEC right on the bottom of the manifold cover....

welcome rock938!

b/c im sure 01tl4tl will chime in w/ this anyway, i'll go ahead & post it since it's good advice...
call 1-800-382-2238 x5 with cars VIN and register as the new owner -- that's Acura Customer Care Center
make sure there are no needed recalls still needing to be done to that car

please follow my directions on seafoam and safety during application
buy 1 can Deep Creep seafoam aerosol for manifold vac port and a can of regular liquid for the gas tank

pull a timing belt cover and see if anything/bolts looks like it was ever touched before-
if not keep removing until you get to the timing belt and water pump~

flush brake fluid for sure!!!
and ps fluid too
