InspireTL's Swap thread and progress (56k please upgrade)

Alright fellow AZiners. As many of you know I've been in the process of swapping engines and transmissions.

I thought I would create a thread to show progress and answer any questions or give ideas to help jumpstart some builds.

My build consists of:
-J35A4 '03 Odyssey Engine
-'05 TL transmission with LSD
-Ported and Polished heads (intake & exhaust), runners, intake manifold
-'05 RL Pistons
-'03 CL-S cams
-Total seal piston rings
-Innovative motor mounts

Yea I know not much

Here are some random pics.

Got the core engine for $800

Breaking it down

Transmission

Mounts

Making it pretty:

I'm trying to find the pics of when it was being ported and polished, disassembly, assembly.

Some pics were taken from a good friend of mine who is helping me with my swap.

More to come.

Well based on my friend's build, I expect a 265 whp/250 wtq untuned.

I plan to stay NA for the rest of this year but planning for some kind of boost next summer.

Why is it that the 05 TL transmission can bolt onto an Odyssey engine but not an older TL engine?

Auto or manual?

It's in the process. I am getting a custom 3" intake, I have the xs headers and for tune...I'm not sure with what to go with yet.

This will be a manual. Those transmissions will fit a J32a1.

Thanks bro. I might just take that blower before you get to it.

The pistons I put in are higher compression. I will also be running 6-speed.

I paid $6k so far. RL block will not fit and $800 for a full core engine that fits right in...you can't beat that.

Yes,

Transmissions that fit our cars 99-03 TL/TL-S
03 CL-S 6-speed (Includes LSD)
04+ TL 6-speed (Includes LSD)
04+ Accord 6-speed (No LSD)

If you have a non Type-S car there are several parts you will need to purchase on top of the standard swap parts. There are lots of posts about this conversion on this and many other forums. Kris's thread for his swap into a 99-01

InspireTL, the engine looks sick. Keep us posted on the build

The pink is actually my idea. It was unique and different. That's why I did it.

Also had my girl in my thoughts when I was picking the powder. So yea I pretty much put it in simple terms.

Thanks for the comments guys. I can't wait to get it in the car and post vids.
