Honda "AV6" ....BAYA or MAYA ?
The Honda Accord V-6's "AV6" used between '03 and '07 apparently had two different manufacturing codes:
BAYA and MAYA
Does anybody know for sure which one of these codes is for the desired '06>'07 AV6 which we use as a donor bolt-in upgrade for replacing our weak problematic 2nd Gen trannys ???

The BAYA is the latest V6 trans for 5 Speed Accord, it has a different internally design casing and it was made in the USA
MAYA was the trans shipped in the 2005 recall. They used the same casing as our B7WA but modified to lubricate the clutch pack properly, it was made in Japan..
Both are compatible but you want the BAYA preferably.
Edit: got that backwards... BAYA was the post 2005 trans.. MAYA is the 2003-2005 design shipped in the 2005 recall.... You want the BAYA preferably.

The reason why I asked is that the '03-'05 Honda Accord tranny is also being sourced as compatible when inquiring about the '06>'07 "AV6". So, it appears as though the MAYA code may be the latest and most desirable newer version to bolt in for our cars ?
My 2000 TL actually has a M7WA.....not the B7WA used in the '01 and up TL's. As you said, either of the newer versions should work ok, but was just looking for the best bang for the buck. In researching the Honda V-6's trannys.....the earlier '03-'05 models still had some durability issues.
'06>'07 AV6 = MAYA.......correct ???

Yah I got that mess up haha Hoped you didn't see it before my edit, I was late .
Basically from worst to best.
M7WA/B7WA < MAYA < BAYA!
The AV6 swap uses only the "BAYA". Though you can install the MAYA too but since the 2005 Recalls where also hit and miss the BAYA is the way to go...

AV6 donor should be a "BAYA"......
Yeah, saw it before....but all's good !
An easy honest mistake that we all can learn from, Thanks for clarifying !!!
To reinforce this, I PM'd 666Wokker and the "BAYA" is definitely the better improved and #1 choice for the AV6 donor. So, with this being said, the "BAYA" code is the way to go with a donor AV6 replacement donor !!!
