Hit 200,000 miles on my TL

Bought it in Aug of 2012 in a pinch to replace my Jeep. Do all the work myself except for suspension (better the experts take care of that).

I always use full synthetic at 7-10,000 intervals.

Recently: fixed the muffler, put new tires on, changed the high pressure power steering hose (real P.I.T.A.), cleaned the IACV valve (was stuck).

Nice! This is the first car I've had with 200K+ miles. I'm hoping to keep it long enough to hit 300K.

Not really surprised, but no power loss at 200k. Just did an oil change and runs pretty good.

225K Miles - Original transmission

I owned 2003 Acura TL-S for last 8 years and driven for over 150,000 miles. Now Odo is 225,000 miles

In last 8 years, I give below list of all issues

1) Brake light burnt
2) Hood struts gradually sag
3) Ambient temp sensor wire repair
4) clock light burnt
5) Blower inop.- Known service fix
6) Suspension / Steering creek, squeak
7) Right headlamp bulb burnt
8) Check engine light- P1457- No repair needed
9) Throttle body & EGR passage cleaned due to rough idle but no codes
10) Rear right brake calipers dragging after brake pad change
11) Muffler shield cracked

As you can see, nothing major. Still original transmission. Would like to reach 500K in another 8 years. Two timing belts changed so far.

229K+ What A Great Car

2003 TypeS, White Pearl / Black Trim. Purchased June, 2014 w/196K. Performed general maintenance, always concerned about known transmission issues. However, this car came equipped with a Honda re-manufactured RMK transmission which continues to operate very well. Engine consumes less than one pint of oil at 5K change interval (truly remarkable). To date, after 32,000 miles and 3 years of service, this car still operates beautifully, with "every" feature working as it should. Fuel economy, 50/50 city/hwy averages 22-24 mpg. Highway only driving @ 65 mph averages 34-36 mpg. WHO, could expect anything more from a very comfortable, nice looking, well designed, competent handling, simi-high performance car with 200K plus miles? YES, I LOVE THIS CAR!

Not to bad above.

My biggest nut on this car was the Transmission, had a new one delivered in a crate the mechanic said it was from Honda, Since then no issues with the tranny.

I had the Timing belt done at 130,000 miles and spark plugs the same time. Previous owner neglected this car. I bought it with 114,000. Spark plugs will get done soon, timing belt can wait a while.

I do all the maintenance, oil and all fluid changes. Keep it clean.

I said already that I want to buy another car but this one is easy to work on and reliable. Starts up in winter also which is a bonus.

Same here but man, no car payment and a reliable/comfy/not ugly car really cant be beat. Put that money you WOULD be paying for a payment into your 401k or pay more towards your mortgage or something. Having a paid for daily is one of the smartest financial moves you can make.
