Help Help Help Somebody Help

Today when i started my car i noticed that the "maintenance light" keeps going off. My car reached 6000 miles today. I cant figure out what is wrong with it. Can somebody help me out? i get my oiled changed every 5000 miles because i use synthetic and its not time for it yet. But it would be almost time(250 more miles to be exact)for it if i used the 3000 mile oil. Thanks

This has been discussed numerous times. There is nothing wrong with your vehicle. The maintenence required light is only a warning pre-programmed to come on at set intervals to remind you of just that--you need regular service done. The dealer will usually reset it if it is on when the car is in for service. However if they don't you can reset it yourself. Check this thread to see how:

Or as daverman will probably post, RTFM...

Its normal I have had my car 18 months now & only have about 14,700 miles. I am do in for 15K service now the last service sticker they put on said 7/26/01 or 14,493 miles. I change oil at 3K or 3 months or sometime go another 500 miles. Anyway my light has been blinking for over a month now I think it comes on about 600 miles before service time. The last time I reset it myself because the dealer did not .
