Has anyone replaced there Fuel pump or the filter under the pump?
I kept reding on here that there is no servicable fuel filter but in the helms manual it looks like a cloth under the fuel pump and it IS replacable..
The reason I ask is cuz my car has been doing some CRAZY things lately..
Like 2-3 weeks ago the car started and idled rough for like 30 seconds and shut of , I started it again, car shook and shut off again, It seemed like not enough gas was getting to it, so I waited a few minutes and it started right up like new and no problem again in that nature , then yesterday I cranked the car and it cracked for 30 seconds and did not start, then cranked it again and again 30 seconds and no start... waited a few minutes and car started right up.. 2 seperate cases 2 seperate things both both seem to be a fuel pump related thing... I never changed the fuel pump or the fuel filter...
Has anyone ever changed the pump or the filter?!?

I thought the filter was a sock type unit surrounding the fuel pickup?
never heard of anyone replacing it or the fuel pump from failure
Have you tried redline or seafoam in the gas tank yet to clean anything up?

Battery was replaced less then a year ago.. I actully did the redline stuff like 6 months ago in the tank and did seafaom like 9 months ago.. I took apart my IM when instaing im spacers and TB spacers and completly cleaned my IM and EGR port.. So it is nuttin to do with the EGR port, and it seems like the problem are fuel pump related.. BUT it is intermitint problem comes one day and nuttin for awile..but I think these are signs of the fuel pump!

A non serviceable filter is what we have. Its in the tank attached to the fuel pump. It can be replaced just like the non serviceable filter in the trans, but its not an external filter thats easily serviceable (thats why they call it that when you have to go inside something to replace it). I highly doubt its the filter or pump. Try checking the fuel pressure to know for sure

even if the battery were brand new I would start with getting the system checked at a parts store for free
Check the cables and where they attach to starter and ground- x years is a long time for cables to last
one treatment of redline or seafoam isnt enough to get everything, and is suggested to be repeated after a month, then good for a year
could even be an ignition switch- they wear out on any type car, do you have many keys on the ring?
even though you cleaned the egr ports- its valve could be malfunctioning

No ony the Acura key,FOB and house key..
I guess i will check the fuse and not really worry about it untill it does not start for good.. I just figured u can change the fuel filter cuz in the helms manual it looks like a towel under the fuel pump, but u have to drop the tank..
I will get the redline stuff and clean the fuel again... Should i get 2 bottles and use 1 bottle fill up 93 then do it again right after??
Or should i pour the whole bottle of seafoam into the tank and fill it super?

If i remember correctly you can do it without dropping the tank. There have been a few who removed the pump to replace the sending unit for the fuel gauge just from removing the lid in the trunk.???

291hp & 245 tq @ 3.5psi
Replace the fuel pump is easy. Open the trunk, remove the bottom cover piece that cover the spare tire. You will see a 5-6in metal round cap near the back seat with 3 screw (I think), uncrew them and you can access to fuel pump. Remove few more screws and you can take fuel pump out.

I would run redline or seafoam at 1 bottle to 1/2 tank of gas- thats super cleaning strength

StonedCL you mentioned running 93 and super?
91 is the minimum octane to run- if 93 is what they sell in your area, thats what to use
Especially type S engines with their 11.5 to 1 compression!!

Year they have 87-89-93 by me.. I go once 89 once 93 , but will stick to 93 100% now..
My car has not givin me any problems lately just those 2 in a span of a month or soo but its acting normal right after both problem and now its acting normal but those problems do seem to be fuel pump related or gas related.. I guess i will not worry till it dont start!

like I said before- throw another can of redline or seafoam at half a tank of gas for max cleaning effect- if there is anything on the filter sock or in the injectors or cold start system that should push it thru
Check the battery electrics operation to verify good, and everything said above.
Hows the spark plugs looking- pull a few and read- whats it got for plugs/age?
glad you will stick with specified gas- 93

tier1 gas brands do help keep things clean
Those who run off brand should use a good fuel cleaner about as often as oil change- 5000-7500 miles depending on conditions of use
