Fuel Injector Cleaner debate?

I was thinking using fuel injector cleaner on my Acura. Hoping it might help with the mileage. I was thinking of using BG 44k or Chevron brand as people recommended on here.

But I heard it can cause harm to the engine. I can damage the oxygen sensor. My bro try it and a few month later, his Toyota's oxygen sensor need to be replace. Anyone experience any of these problems?

The other method is seafoam. I did some research and still have no idea how that work? How complicated or time consuming?

I use Regane complete fuel system cleaner, or Chevron Techron every 8k. As long as you don't over use it's fine. Seafoam is used widely around here, and if you do a search on it you will come across a very informative thread.

see the gen2 thread: seafoamed the ol TL
for 16+ pages of tips and pics
Its easy and SAFE to do- makes the car run way better, and if you do the burn off drive afterwards- wont kill your O2 sensor- it may trigger a CEL that will clear itself if the buildup was bad.

You can do it on your own, if you have some basic mechanic skills. It's simple enough not to go to someone to pay for the labor. As someone previously stated, there is a very thorough and informative thread called: "seafomed the ol' tl" which has step by step instructions.

BG44K is the best fuel system cleaner in a can. Amsoil PI and Gumout Regane are close 2nd's. Seafoam is a great top engine cleaner, but I'd use the others first for a fuel system cleaner.

I've used Lucas Fuel System treatment and it worked great for me. It took care of a rough idle my TL had developed.

The Lucas is a good product which I used many times in many fuel tanks.
Tech at Lucas said their cleaner adds 3 octane when added 1 3/4 ounces per 1 gal fuel

Then azine introduced me to Seafoam which works well in several ways Lucas does not, and I have been using it since with good results. Take your pick - just use something!

Its been well tested by ziners who all say its great, even has a money back guarantee.
The newfound way to get it right into the manifold right AT the Throttle body, and hits all the cylinders is in the DIY section- works way better this way

BK is highly praised here as a fuel cleaner used in the tank
Seafoam is the only one I have heard of the vac port method for getting it right to the valves and pistons.
I will admit to using other brands of fuel cleaner now and then. I run Tier1 quality gas- being chevron texaco or 76 or shell.
