8.8 is the strength. you will want 10x40 1.25 or 1.50 pitch Metric bolts (or the equilivent size in standard)

Installed my Headers today and they sound great. ONe thing I noted is a small vibration feel under my feet (when you here the miner roaring noise) at 1500 -1700 RPM. Is that Normal?

that may be some resonance. Is it touching anything, and is the hanger under tha car that the header attaches to in 1 piece?

DC's were found to have a gasket issue(cheap),a lot of members solved this by buying new copper Gaskets from Summit Racing.............same gains pretty much with all headers.........the one thing to note is that the DC's are ceramic headers, while the XS Power,Comptech are stainless steel.Opionions differ on this also.(good vs. bad)

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully you'll get it all fixed soon and judging from your other thread you were the lucky one.

Just to update since we were bidding at the same time. Got mine installed this past weekend and so far so good. Sound nice at mid and high RPMs and like others have said, very slight increases at lower RPMs but you can really feel it as you get higher.

Ran into no problems during installation. Almost rounded off a cat nut with the impact wrench but took a break, came back, and finished it by hand slowly. Other than that everything was straight forward.

congrats on the install glad to see another good install with no fitment or sound issues.

well we will see if im lucky in a few days when geiko does the quote. im just pissed off because my headers are probebly sitting in the post office waiting to get picked up. i suppose that i will go pick them up today if there here. but we will see.

they said they may have to yank the engine out so if they do that what better chance to have my headers installed to have the repair shop do it while the engine is floating in the air. i should order my pulleys and see if they will do those too.

Glad to see you got them on, was just wondering if you would be willing to help me put these in? I lack the tools to do this here and since we are both in bmore it would be a easy ride to where ever you are

I want to say Providence Leaf was the first TL guy to get the XS headers on the TL forum.............I saw he was selling his DC headers and then stumbled across his posts in the CL section about the XS.
A far as how many have it I would say a lot......the CL section had a really long thread about it and it seemed a lot of them got it.

Maybe check the heatshield, common issue is a loose screw.....either crawl under and check(use jack stands) or have the heatshield removed entirely.

Just a note... for quick jobs like this I prefer ramps. Don't exactly have room for a lift and don't have patience for jack stands some times. Gotta make sure your careful though, a front wheel drive will try to pull them backwards and if their slope if too steep or if you have a lip they will drag on the underside of the lip. Nonetheless for some reason i just feel more comfortable under ramps.

Mine were EZ to put on, to under three hours. Fit was great, only issue I have is a slight hissing sound I hear - noticeable when I rev up the motor a little and it starts to wind down. I have checked for leaks and can not find any.

Good luck !!

Angry

This is getting on my nerves. i have this nice shinny set of headers sitting at home and i cant install them because my car is in the shop. 2 weeks they have been sitting there smiling at me and i cant to anything with them except make engine noises through them. and that gets old really quick.

Got mine in today, and jesus christ you can def. feel the kick of power these throw in. I think im having some resonance issues at 1600rpm, then at 2500-2600rpm (bit louder here). Ill let everything "burn in" then retighten and hope all is good.

Drove to class this morning, and its actually pretty annoying. It was about 60* this morning and when the car was warming up and hovering around 1k, I had some resonance. And then at those other RPM's I mentioned above. Its like a "WHOOOOOM" sound and I can feel the shake in the steering wheel and gas pedal. I think my hanger is ok, is my only option to retighten everything? Whats the best tightning sequence (headers first going from inside nuts to the outside nuts, then the downpipe to the headers and then the cat?)

I'd say more like resonance but im not 100% what resonance sounds like exactly. Something else I forgot to mention is how I kinda had to force the hanger to sit in place, so there is probably a good amount of tension there. Could that be doing anything?

Ill make a video today of what it sounds like exactly

that could be it from the tension. just double check everything. i have only heard good things from these and the times that i hear bad things its cause something was installed wrong. i hope this is not the start of a trend.

Im sure its not a trend, probably something too tight or loose somewhere. Me and a buddy got pretty tired towards the end of the install, it was late and we had far too many beers in between But i'm pretty sure there are no leaks

ya once you get a few to many beers in you, all that matters is that it is done. till you wake up and realize that your headers are on your intake and you cold air intake is your exhaust tip.
