Just bought a new one for like $10 from Acura... haven't put it in yet though.

Hanger replaced. Metal rattling/resonance sound solved!

... now this dude needs to make headers for the 3G's... now THAT would be nice. That'd make me one step closer to buying an '04+.

can only make cats for 3rd gen, no headers.........the piping is welded(cast iron) to the engine block on the 3rd gen.

WHAT? That sucks. So I take it that there's no type of loophole around this. Why do you think Acura/Honda did this to their engines? I know the accord's headers are welded, but never thought the TL's would be also.

I'm not an expert ... The only thing I can think of is it saves a step in the manufacturing process, no need to attach headers to engine. Kinda like when the top fuel dragsters service the engine between rounds, they take the cylinder heads off with the headers attached.

So what if the headers where to crack? They would have alot more to do. Those bastids. Or acura realized there were modders out there and they kinda went "IN YO FACE MODDERS, CANT TOUCH THIS!"

ssautochrome isn't putting them up for "buy it now."

I lost out on a set earlier tonight because my fingers were slow... forgot there was a confirmation form after the place bid form was submitted. Ah well, since I can't find them for less than $370 online I'm just going to hold out till ssautochrome's auction comes through.

No worries I've bid on the other set. Like someone said earlier in the thread. No reason for us to go out bidding each other.

Search for "COMPTECH STYLE ACCORD V6 3.0L RACE HEADERS CL 6 SPEED " and they have a buy it now. The "XSP Honda Accord 1998 99 00 01 2002 V6 Header " dont have that option, but if you wait it out it would end up being cheaper.

Thanks pizaul! I had been relying on the "XSP" in the description. Well now I *have to* "buy it now" so hopefully someone will outbid me on the other set... if not I'll have a set to sell on the cheap.

no im not in that big of a hurry, but i want to get them soon, cuz it sounds like they are a killer deal, but im willing to wait to get a good price, im a little tough and cash and i dont really want to pay 150 + shipping and buy them now. So i can wait till there is a good opp.

Used "buy it now" and got them delivered to the office 36 hours later. Can't beat that service

I was planning on installing them this weekend but the wife's A/C compressor in her CRV just blew today so looks like my hopes have been dashed

If anyone knows a good place in CO that will install these, or someone in this community that can help me, let me know.

I reused my stock gaskets and used the roud ones that came with it (as the others have). all you need are better bolts

Well... long story short it turns out I can probably do it now. The compressor blowing in the CRV is a common problem and Honda dealerships are evaluating them on a case-by-case basis (out of warranty). Dropping it off at the dealership tonight for "evaluation" tomorrow. I think that gives me a free pass to work on my car this weekend since I won't even have time to get the new compressor

Thanks, as usual, this and a few other comments saved me 60bux on gaskets from the dealership.

I bet if they do decide to do it, they would have it done in a hr or 2 anyways
