EVAP Canister Shut Valve Part# question for Type-S Acura TL 2003

Hi, I've posted this under the following thread but this thread appears to be dead so I am re-posting this here in case someone can shed some light to it. https://acurazine.com/forums/second-.../#post15868716

According Smartypants post from the link/thread above, he said to order Part# 17310-S0X-A02 for the Canister Shut valve for 2nd Generation Acura TL. However, I could not locate this part# for an Acura TL "Type-S" 2003. It matches for the base TL model though. Is this the correct part# for my Type-S TL or am I supposed to order Part# 17310-S84-L31 for the shut valve since my car is a 2003 TL "Type-S" instead? I would like this confirmed before I place the order so I don't have to hassle with returning it.

Thanks Guys!

Correct part# for 2003 Type-S is Part# 17310-S84-L31

Since no response to my inquiry regarding the correct part# for the shut valve. I went ahead and ordered Part# Part# 17310-S84-L31 for my 2003 TL Type-S. I've confirmed the Denso part# that was listed on the new shut valve matched exactly to what was originally on the car. So the part# provided by SmartyPants for the shut valve is not for ALL 2nd generation TL's.

For installation, I'm glad I went ahead and ordered the canister along with the shut valve. The two screws for the shut valve to mount on the canister was completly rusted and did not come off. I was just going to replace the shut valve if the screws were not rusted so badly but it stripped when I tried. Also, the shut valve that I ordered already came with the o-ring so I did not use the one that came with the canister.

Only been three days since I replace both the shut valve and the canister but the MIL light has not come back on yet. Hope this takes care of the P1457 code. Will post back if it doesn't.

Thanks for the update. My 02 TL-S just started throwing this code. Going to change out both items soon. Just curious, did you have any engine stumbles/rpm fluctuations? Mine has been having a few quick rpm fluctuations that seem to happen prior to the code being thrown

No problem MarcDavidoff. No I did not have any engine stumbles or rpm fluctuations. I felt no difference in engine performance when this code came on in my car.
