DRL Aesthetics / yellow or white?
i decided to swap my DRL/highbeams, which is the only mod aside from the 6000k hid fogs i have ever done on my car. unless you count complete interior LED conversion. i just need your opinion on which one looks best for my vehicle!
anyway i have a pair of 65w 9005 yellows i found in my basement, not sure where they came from...they are somehow labled sylvania, even though i have never seen sylvania yellows...i think it might have been my old civic high beams that i tinted myselfs. As highbeams they are bright, just like oem. They look great as DRLs too:
I also have a pair of nokya blue tinted bulbs. They are 55w 9005. They give off white light but i can't tell if they are even on. They are about 1/4 as bright as oem.
So what do you think? which one is should i keep? or should i use something else? i have 55w hid 4300k lows and i want to avoid HID and LED highs.
thanks.

Good question as I have contemplated myself.
Use yellow ones during the winter when the weather is more of a factor with snowing, etc. and you want to be more visible and use white ones during summer months. BTW, I use white ones myself for DRL's.

I personally would use what ever gives me the best lighting when i use the High beams over what looks cooler. But that is me, i use my high beams a lot.

I totally agree with this as yellow light is best for cutting through fog. I your car were mine id do the hyper white DRL/highbeams and swap the fogs with Nokya 3000k halogen bulbs. The stock fogs are a weak 35watts anyway so upgrading to those Nokya's will upgrade the brightness since they are 55watts. Just food for thought.

If Anything I would use the Yellow Bulbs on the Fogs as DRLs and Throw In 5K HID High Beams I use them Alot myself in very Dark Roads.. But Since you have DRL by OEM it would involve some DIYer..
I had Fogs as DRLs and they looked sick! but once the Cool Factor wears off, You will really want The fogs to do something. But Again since in Canada is Installed by Law you need them.
HIDd Everything, Never looked Back.

hey do you think you can do me a favor please. Something is wrong with my DRL and I don't know if it's the module, or there is a break in the wiring somewhere.
My DRLs don't come on and I have a DRL yellow dash light come on when the car starts. But when I turn on the high beams, only the drivers side lights up. I know that the passanger side bulb is good, I just need to know if you would get a DRL yellow dash light if you unplugged one bulb, and if they would both not be working. And if the high beam would still work on the one that's plugged in. Would you be able to do that for me since you are already messing with these lights. Thanks

Why lower the wattage of your no-beams? It makes them less effective than the stock bulbs. The idea of mods are to improve the effectiveness of the part u r replacing. Acura, Nissan, and Lexus for that matter used to use yellow fog lights in most of their cars in the US and continue to in Japan due to their effectiveness to cut thru fog & rain. I'm putting yellow bulbs in my fogs and del's on my 3.5g for this exact reason. It for one it upgrades the 35watt own fog lights to 55watt so the change in brightness will be BIG.

isn't the 3g TL just HID low beams? they are not bi-xenon. Also i already have HID fogs. However hid fogs are never on when DRL/High Beams are. as soon as high beams are powered, it cuts power to fogs, im sure you guys know this. Therefore i have hid 6000k fogs.

3rd gen TL's most certainly do have bi-xenon headlights.

For everyone that doesn't have DRL's...google "acurazine drl module diy". There was a thread that points you to where to buy the module etc. I think it was like fifty bucks and it's been going for 2 years strong now. Only problem is I think I read that it's been discontinued. You can basically wire it to come on when no lights are on at 75% like normal DRL's and then they cut off when you turn on your low beams.

3G is bi-xenon. They are considered by those that swap the best bi-xenon out there.
