Do you fight rust at cars and trucks?
I'm rust fighting enthusiast. Here is my tread where I reported fighting rust for 10 years at pickup https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-compound.html .
Here is tread where we discuss about boxed frames https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...inions-21.html . That tread is huge and is lingering for 10 years.
In beginning, 2009 I was all about painting of undercarriage. Tried POR 15, rust reformers and settle with zinc rich paint. But my truck rusted from inside out. So I found need to spray something inside of frame, boxed subframe, rockers etc. After a lot of riding I chose Cosmoline above Fluid film and Krown. For cavity applications you need extension wand for spray can. I use . So my current system is Cold galvanizing paint, Cosmoline and SEM wand. Just at Sunday did it to Acura first time especially throwing tons of Cosmoline at rear of front subframe where rust start to form because is below AC tube.
Do you use anything? I'm following from time to time Hotrodders.com where painting experts hang. They are into 2k epoxy primers, but they have professional sprayers. I check from time to time finishing.com to. It is where dr.s of rust fighting hang.

I have 3rd gen 4runners known to have a very common issue with rust especially frame from inside out. I bought a 1 owner from PA against better judgement but looked closely and missed patch of rust so at shop for repair. Once back I plan hit whole undercarriage with wire wheel and waxoyl. Used also on TL I got from IL which suffered some corrosion in rear and had replace both rear calipers and while off prepped everything.
broke my cardinal rule of not buying in rust belt but still got 2 great vehicles and the runner was inexpensive enough to turn into project. I'm still keeping up the fight on my fleet with waxoyl where necessary as my weapon of choice.
keep up good fight
