Question Cold temp HVAC gauge issue

I searched the forums and I didn't find this, but I was wondering if anyone has this problem (just started on my 23 month old 2002 TL-S w/23k miles).

It's kinda cold here in Denver right now and a couple of times I have started the car up and the temperature gauge for the HVAC controls is reading 20 degrees! Then, I turn the temperature knob and it says 65. I back out of the garage and look back down and it's saying 20 degrees again. It did this a couple of times going back and forth and then it was fine.

Do you think it's the cold getting to it? I've not seen this one before. How're your gauges fairing in cities where it's really cold?

Anyone?

I remember seeing this posted a while back as being the result of a faulty HVAC control unit. Hopefully your car is under warranty as the dealer will replace it.
