Man, the suspense has been killing me !!!

Honda has a lot at stakes with this particuliar car, especially when dropping the popular TSX model from their Acura line-up. They gotta get the new TLX right for any hopes of holding on to potential sales within this highly competitive market class.

They have been dragging their feet lately, without any inspirational offerings. Their latest attempts have been weak and missed target, as witnessed with the latest RLX model. We can only hope and pray that Honda realizes their mistakes and have done the right things to bring back the desired thrill and styling that folks demand now that the economy has picked up and people are looking for something a notch above.

Not only have they been dragging there feet on the TLX but on the NSX also. Even though the NSX is probably due out at the same time as the TLX, the TLX`s preliminary reviews have been somewhat positive on the interior styling but no mention of the engine or body.

Hey, this is better than dropping the ball at New Years Eve.
Is everybody holding on to their seats and ready to celebrate ?

The countdown is on......down to virtually minutes away.

How can a car company keep such things as this under wraps and so close lipped ? Usually they like to leak this stuff like Ford has with the new Mustang and it's aluminum F150 pickup.

Is it worth the wait ??? 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2.......uhhh "1" !!! yeah baby

First impressions of the exterior. Better than the 4th gen, but didn't wow me. Ugh... not showing the interior...

While it's still supposedly only a "Prototype" model.... This rendering has to be almost as close as close can possibly get, except for some minor details and options. First impression is that this new TLX appears better than it's 4th Gen predessor, IMO. But, as always....seeing it in the raw flesh will tell the ultimate story for me.

Gotta get a feel for the rear quarter bodyline's accent sculpturing and the rear roofline....especially at the point in which the rear door's window glass "V" into it. Front, along with rear fascias and profiles are definitely an overall pleasing improvement over the past gen's pronounced trademark beak. So, basically for now....7 out of 10 !!!

Honda will always be on top of their game with the latest technology and drivetrain engineering for Acura, so the final judge will be dependant upon the eyes of the prospective beholder of a new car loan.

The rear roof to trunk body line looks a bit like the back of a G series sedan. Not quite as abrupt a drop off on the trunk as a G but still similar

Bottom line....they did good enough with things to move forward and sell the TLX.
Definitely better than expected, judging from Acura's other latest new car offerings.

Yeah, the old roofline styling was getting rather old in the tooth. Ha, hah....but the RLX kept it for some reason. So, a roofline change for the TL..... even though a departure from the past is refreshing to the eye. If only they could've dropped the heavy trademark grille bar for a bit of relief from the beak. Maybe by the time the prototype hits the showroom ...... it'll be gone !!!

Here are some nice shots from autoblog

http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2015-...oit-2014/full/

After looking at it some more, it is definitely growing on me! I doubt they will get rid of the beak as that has become the trademark look for Acura to differentiate them from the competitors IMHO.

Overall, I agree that Acura has captured what the consumers are looking for in the vehicle's design and offer the luxury feel with the sportiness Acura is known for. very interested in seeing the final product hit the showroom floor and hope they keep the 6MT SH-AWD version

Yeah, I know it's all about fuel economy, but how often is a 9 speed going to be shifting- every 8 mph? 10years ago they had issues with making a 5 speed

Excited about the styling, but I have to say I'm somewhat disappointed that they're still using the 3.5.

Well, they need somewhere to go when they do the 2017 refresh.

Their Acura TLX GT version runs a twin turbo on the same engine on the production TLX, so maybe the new engine will be better equipped to handle a turbo?

Just remember that Acura's compact TSX model will also be replaced with this all new TLX.

Honda can't afford to fail on this mission, otherwise they risk losing many potential sales.

Looks good, but looks like a Lexus to me.
And a 9 speed transmission?? IMHO, that's overkill. It's going to be spending as much time shifting gears as it will in a gear. Unless the motor has the narrowest torque band ever, 9 speeds seems too many, it's going to be shifting all the time, and makes the transmission needlessly more complex.

To be fair it really depends on how well its programed. It's all in the coding my friend.

They said it'll be a dual clutch transmission. It'll be shifting before you know it. More complex yes but certainly not more time shifting.

Hey, if Honda marketing can price the basic 4 cylinder model at about 30k and the upscale loaded AWD around 40k or a bit over, Acura will blow the competition away with it's new TLX, IMO. Look for an updated redesigned RLX flagship model in the very near future. They realize that they screwed up with the body and will beef it up to match their technology !!!

If we are making comparisons, it kind of looks like a G35. The TLX driving down the road should turn some heads. As stated earlier if it comes with a variety of great colors like our TL`s have it should be even better looking than a Lexus, Toyota or Infinity.
