Hi.
I have a 2002 TLP and with 162,000 kilometers eh.
recently, for the past 2 weeks my car has been behaving weird. at times, when driving i feel that the car vibrates slightly for a brief moment (at different speeds) then it is ok. Specially when going up a steep hill and only when i am pressing on the gas.
If begin feeling that vibration and hold my foot on the gas at that position it continues to vibrate until i speed up more or i slow down.

Please tell me it is not a sign of tranny failure!!!! say it aint so!!

yes, kind of when you brake and got warped rotors.
when does your do this?

nobody with tranny failure got this symptom before it went out?

Did you check at what RPMs it does this?

well my tranny went out about 2 weeks ago when the tranny started slipping which it sounds like yours is doing when u press the gas. Do u have any cel, d4 light blinks, etc. Its hard to tell whether its your tranny without more info. If your rpm's goes up and the car still moving slow then it picks up speed thats a good way to tell if the trany is slipping. There is a thread on the first page which tells u the main ways to tell if your tranny is going bad good luck

This is what my 02 TL-P did before failing. That doesn't mean it is definitely your problem, though.

thanks for the responses. I did more search under vibrating and some people had it because of the balance weights in tire came off. or the wheel bearing is gone/about to go. stuck caliper.
the RPM gauge does not jump up or down.
Anyways I really hope it is the caliper or something like that. I will take it to the shop again and see what they say

same thing happened to me today!! was in the 5th gear...goin steady. suddenly this vibration comes in...to the steering part...very minimal...but as i increase the speed..or change the lane or do something it goes away..!!
no a tranny problem for sure...had it replaced..just now and nor the RPMs fluctuate..
i dunno wher its comin from...gonna take it to the dealer

Hmm.. I had a similar problem on my '97 (never on the '03) and it was the CV joints. The boot was torn.. and apparently the vibrating is a symptom.. it went away anytime i accelerated.
