Can Your PCM FRY if???

http://www.canadiandriver.com/forum/...;topic=56810.0

hey recently read this link reading up on my p1457 cel problem, and has this ever really happened to anyone?

i believe i need to change my evap canister and shut valve and will be taking it to get changed sometime this week. but my CEL has been on about half a year for this problem. i just never had the money to fix it until i got my tax return back this year but seeing as i have been waiting a while to do this, is it possible that my PCM has become FRIED!??!?

Dont get yourself all worried. Start with the typical problems associated with that code.

ok...

So I eventually got this problem fixed and its been more than a year and this p1457 code still comes up.

Evap Canister and shut valve were replaced at Honda and the code stayed away until recently. At first I thought I didn't tighten the gas cap enough so I would always re-tighten the cap and pull the clock fuse to have the CEL go away. Even ended up buying 2 new gas caps in the process.

But every now and then the light comes back on. What else can this problem be? Same parts gone bad again?

the car was hooked up to a smoke machine a while back and couldn't detect a leak, but that was indeed a while ago.

Thanks for the help guys.

Forgot to mention the P1457 code brought along 2 friends.
That code also came along with a TCS light and P0740 code, But I already know my trans is on its way out with the original now at 191k.

Are these codes even related somehow?

Was thinking about 6spd swap but its not worth it financially to me. 6spd swap about 3-4k with help and labor costs, def cant tackle that project on my own. Reman trans 2400+labor, or a rebuild about 1k-1.5k I hope, still shopping for prices on a rebuild and looking for a reputable shop to do it.

My KBB is worth about 3500 in "good" condition. Not worth it for me to pay for new trans that's worth more than the car. Probably going to end up rebuilding and driving for no more than another year, and parting out to try and make some money back.

Use the money as a down payment on a 07-08 type-s. which im already thinking about modding in my head

Possibly future part out of FFtype1 coils less thank 10k, AEM v2, p2r tb spacer, and ATLP exhaust for original with cash lol...

... but all of this is just me fantasizing about the future

These lights arent dummy lights. If they are on they are on for a reason, problems dont fix them selves. Fix the problem and the light will go off.

Nobody can seem to find the problem. That's my bigest problem. EVAP codes are a biatch.
Can you give a quick diagnosis on what could possibly be failing or need replacing?
Evap canister and shut valve were already replaced. What's next to look at?

Found & fixed

Appears to me a misconnection in some hoses under the hood.
Apparently after having my TB spacer and AEM V2 installed the hoses that go to them were reinstalled backwards.

At least that's what my mechanic told me
