Can anyone suggest a good wheel lock?
hey guys can anyone tell me where to find a good wheel lock? i decided not to get the crappy locks that you can get from acura. they wanted like 50 bucks and they were the cheap ones that have the keyed area on the top of the nut. they strip out too easy. i want some locks that have the keyed area around the nut kinda like a socket key. i got some from discount tire but i took them back because they stuck out too far and dident look like the factory nuts because they stuck out about 1/4 inch more than the stock lugnuts. they were made by gorillia and they looked ok but the guy at the tire store dident seem to know if they made another one like it but a little shorter in size.
thanks

You can either get the McGard Spline drive nuts with their wheel locks or you can get the Gorilla keyed lug nuts! http://www.gorilla-auto.com
Are these going on aftermarket wheels that are tuner style holes or on stock wheels?
I have 4 sets of lug nuts for the TL.
1. Stock lug nuts with Acura wheel lock
2. Gorilla lug nuts that are keyed on every nut.
3. Tuner style socket lug nuts with key
4. McGard Spline Drive lug nuts with lock. (currently on my TL).
Interested in 1-3??? I'll sell them to you!

they are going on the factory wheels but i would need to see a picture of them before i buy. also i would want you to measure the length of the lock. i do not want the keyed part of the lock to be on the top. i prefer the keyed area to be on the sides and the key itself looks like a socket.
thanks

socal, thoes are the exact same ones i bought from Discount tire. there are 2 problems with them.
1. our tl wheels have a ball type face on them NOT Acorn
2. when i installed them they stuck out about 1/4 of an inch farther than the rest of the regular lugs.
they looked stupid and they are the wrong seat. that is the reason i took them back.
gorillia makes another nut called a honda locking type its about 2 pages down the list. the seat and thread are perfect except i measured my lugs and they are about 1.5 inches long. the honda locking nut is less than an inch so i am afraid it will bottom out. actually the nut for the porshe is almost perfect in size and mounthing surface except it is black and the wrong thread.
i know it is possible to remove the locks without a key but it will slow them down. and i got the gorillias for 15 bucks i figured it was worth it if they would have been the right fit! i am about ready to give up on the whole thing. i mean who is going to steal factory TL rims anyway? i would be more worried driving a CL type S or if i had aftermarket rims in witch case i would probly need new lugs anyway.

Concerning the "sticking out further" issue, that's why I bought a set of 24, replaced ALL the lugs with Gorilla keyed lug nuts.
Oh well, I tried.
You might want to try calling Gorilla and see if they can make you a set with your specs.
Just a thought.
Good luck!

If you download the Gorilla catalog in PDF. My locking wheel nuts are on page 24. The chrome "Acorn" style. The size that fits our TL's, I believe is 12mmx1.5. I have the set of 24 locking nuts and 2 keys. I special ordered the keys so that they are 3/4 socket head which will fit our TL's stock lug wrench.
Be aware, these lugs are excellent for stock wheels, but for after market wheels that are "tuner" holes, these are too fat! This is the reason I don't use them anymore!
Email me if your still interested!
