So today my wife called saying that a light came on in the dash.. i asked her what it looked like she said it reads BRAKE LAMP.. i asked if she was sure and if it was the emergency brake light she said shes sure and it says brake lamp in red. I never saw it before. But common sense told me it could be a tail light bulb out.. checked the tail lights they all work including the 3rd light.. now about 5 min after getting home and trying to check it out the light went out.. took it for a spin its driving normal. could it be a bad brake switch? I checked the fluid level and its not low at all its about 3/4 full but it also looks to be old and dirty a maybe brake fluid flush ?

Does it stay on? if it stays on the problem is the Parking Lights which are shared with the Main Taillight brake lamps.
A bad brake switch will make the Brake Lights malfunction so its easy to diagnose.

Nah its completely off now but i'll check the brake switch next.
