Exclamation Bad Oil Leak

What's up everybody, just turned 132,000 on my 2001 TL. The threads on the inside of the oil pan are stripped, so I've been using a dorman one time use 1/2 inch drain plug that tightens down. Every time I change the oil I put a new plug on. I've never had an issue of seeing oil on the ground, maybe just a drop or two, but lately I've been noticing a decent amount of oil under my car after it's been parked overnight or sitting for a few hours.

The oil was just recently changed and there's no leaks coming from the filter, so it's definitely coming from that drain plug. I really want to get a new oil pan put on by the dealer so I can stop worrying about having to top the car off or the plug blowing out while I'm driving, but it's probably going to be about $500 to do so.

Does anybody have any suggestions for what I can do to correct this? Any help is very much appreciated

I had this happen a couple years ago, I think my guy redrilled the pan and put in a larger plug. No problems since. Make sure you tell whoever does your oil changes about this if you have it done. A different size crush washer is required to prevent drip or leaking.

Make a note of what size/type washer for future ref.

Good luck....

Don't replace the oilpan, it could be a bigger job than you think. Just get the bigger size bolt from napa and it should fix the problem. Here it is:
