Back to the TL (and feels good)
I retired my TL from year around daily duty to a cold season backup.
It's a 2003 TL-P with 145k miles. It was purchased new, pretty much original everything including the tranny. I do 3x1 AFT change every 15k miles religiously. Besides normal maintenance (fluids, brakes, tires, motor mounts, TB/WP), the things don't work include AC, driver heated seat, rearview mirror auto-dim, and 2-3 bulbs that lit the buttons and cluster at night). and the IACV is acting up so I ordered a new one, otherwise still a very solid car and I wouldn't think twice to take her on a cross country trip if need to. Now I daily a mazda miata from April to November, it's a super fun car that always put a grin on my face, but not so much fun in the winter. Back in the TL is like re-unite with a old friend. It's comfortable, quiet (ok, pretty much any car is quieter than the miata), has ample power and pretty good on gas. I still enjoy driving the TL despite it's 15 yrs old. Bottom line, take care of your TL, she will take care of you. It will be a sad sad day when I part ways with her. |
What does the "P" stand for in "TL-P"? I loved mine until the tranny went out.
