Auto Lock Feature for 2nd Gen TL?
Hi guys!
I just bought a 2002 Acura TL (practically new with 14k miles on it! :what::what::what:) this weekend! Loving the car so much! So I've owned a 1995 Toyota Camry and a 1996 Honda Accord in the past and both of them automatically locks once you shift out of park. Both of these cars also had aftermarket auto start system installed and my 2002 Acura TL does not. Do any of you guys know if the TL has this auto lock feature built into it already or do I need to install an aftermarket auto start system? Thank you!! |
Holy crap an '02 with 14k??? Where did you find that?
Sorry, can't answer your question but I had to say something about your new car. |
Haha.. right?! It was my next door neighbor's car. I lived there for 20 years and haven't seen this car once! He rarely drove it, kept it in the garage and babied it like crazy. He REALLY didn't want to get rid of it but had to due to old age. He wouldn't stop bugging me when he handed over the keys lol. I completely lucked out though!

WOW...pictures or it didn't happen!
|
That's quite a find!
If he had it regularly maintained, it may be a good idea to see when the transmission was last serviced.:) |
No autolock on 2G TLs.
|
Just get in the habit of pressing the lock yourself when you get in the car.
|
Would also love to see pics of this car - quite the find!!
An aftermarket alarm system is the only way I know to get the locks to work the way you want it to. And heed the advice of others when they warn you about the tranny. Has been referred to as "glass" |
|
Yeah, I read about the tranny. Before getting this car. Will treat it like glass lol.

man, that TL looks pristine. congrats!
